Opioids Best OTC drug to block opiate histamine release?

I have Benadryl (diphenhydramine hcl) but I was wondering if some hydrocortisone cream would help too or if there was a different OTC antihistamine that worked well to block opiate histamine/itch release?

Benadryl should be enough for the histamine release from opiates. Just take it like 30-40 minutes before you do your opi's and you shouldn't have much of a problem with the histamine release.

Hydrocortisone cream really only works for topical problems, like a bug bite or hives. It doesn't really absorb through the skin and treat the body. You could also try loratadine, if you want a non-drowsy solution

Damn I was hoping there was a cream I could use in conjunction with benadryl. You're saying for sure hydrocortisone won't help if I put some on my nose?

about how much benadryl are you guys taking? I know I'll have to experiment to see what works for me, but it makes me feel "off" and I want to know the minimum starting point I should try...

thanks!

Too much of it will cause you to go to sleep, I used to take it just to sleep on its own and it did a decent job

But they come in 25mg caps and I took 2 last night, spaced over about an hour but i was SUPER ITCHY for like an hour in between and it made for a not so fun high lol

I normally took about 50-100mg of benadryl about 45min before my dose. You can use lower doses of diphen if that suits you better. Always dose your diphen before your opiates, never after. That's how I did it atleast.

Now for your hydrocortisone question, I've never tried that; applying it to the itchy nose while nodding. I'm not sure if that'll work the way you want it to. But it's worth a try.

cyclzine would work pretty well if you can find it, it also is a great potentiator.......but benadryl will be just fine.

I'd go with promethazine...sold OTC in the UK for some reason....script only almost everywhere else.

Brand name is Phenergan...it has sedating/anti-emetic properties & is excellent as a potentiator for opiates/benzo's.

if you are UK based, you have to ask for it, they keep em in the back. They will ask what you want em for, say travel sickness.

*edit* they come in packs of 56 25mg's, & will cost you about £5. Dont be fobbed of with the 10mg packs...they cost almost the same as the 25mg's

Fuck I hate suspicious chemists, some of em think they know as much as doctors...which isn't saying much lol

the only cyclizine antihistamine I've been able to find is Meclizine aka Dramamine II or Bonine.
I am Rx'd Hydroxyzine, which I think is a great potentiator and addon to most drug cocktails.

Cyclizine antihistamines are supposed to be piperazine class drugs that increase the nod of opiates and supposedly also increase some euphoric elements of the high

they have benadryl cream im not sure about hdrocortizone or what its used for but benadrly in oral form also increases that "nod" feeling
