What benzo would you guys suggest for social/general anxiety disorder?...I have tried xanax but i think that was too strong and i ended up way too tired a couple hours after taking it and ended up just falling asleep...i was thinking either clonazepam or diazepam..What would you guys suggest between these two? I'm looking for a benzo thats not very sedating like the xanax was...maybe diazepam since it is weaker? any help is appreciated thanks

^people will have different opinions about this. i would say valium is significantly more "present." kpin is the weakest of the benzos, im my experience. benzo taste is quite subjective.

Yeah benzos have different sedation/anti-anxiety/amnesic/Muscle relaxing ratios.

So, naturally there is a spectrum.

#1 diazepam, altho personally i'd need at least 20mg to get any anxiety relief...

clonazepam works well but i find i feel more drunk on it & wind up popping multiple pills without realizing it

alprazolam kills panic attacks but doesn't last more than 1hr for me, then i need to redose multiple times to relieve the anxiety.. also the rebound anxiety it causes is quite bad..so you'll want to redose just to avoid that, ime

Yea, I get 20mg a day as needed of diazepam! I like it alot better than the xanax.

Diazepam all day.

I use benzos along with opies recrreationally now again. Bur thats not for you

Valium is as excellent benzo

ok cool, yea i also noticed the day after xanax i would feel a lot more "down" and got very irritated a lot easier..even a couple hours after taking xanax i noticed i would just feel lazy and down and just want to sleep..looks like valium it is!

Ativan? That one's highly sedating and has very noticeable residual effects going into the next day (or the next few days if you OD hard).

Yeah, it makes me feel drunk and puts me to sleep. I felt out of it for a few days as well, my face looked 'fat' for some reason, might have been the relaxation properties working.

for me klonopin has been a life saver due to it's long half life and the fact that it's not that sedating, at least once you have a tolerance. I personally think xanax is a bad idea if used on a daily basis unless it is used with a longer acting benzo.

Yea, coming off of Xanax is a bitch. If you get panic attacks and you need it just for that it is great... Unfortunatly I had around 6 panic attacks a day.... there wasn't much of a choice for me but if you can avoid daily xanax do it at all costs.

Valium isn't sedating, you can also take it at bedtime.. the anxeity effects last for quite a while same with klonopin. I just find the valium to work better for me.

Good luck to all of you who are struggling with anxiety and panic disorder.

diazepam and clonazepam i would say are the best all around.

lorazepam, alprazolam, and bromazepam are amazing at stopping panic attacks in their tracks.
