Best Benzo for a comedown

What do you believe to be the best benzo for a comedown? Do you prefer different benzos for coming down off specific substances?
 
I would have to say xanax or temazapam would be the best since there effects hit you very quickly and clonazapam can take up to 1 hour to to get its effect
 
Very true. Clonazepam's effects are nice and long-lasting however.

I defeat the taking-long-to-take-effect problem by putting the klonopin tablet under my tongue. :) Ativan is even better because its designed to be taken that way.

I would imagine that the shorter acting benzos like xanax and temazepam would be better for the intense crash of a methylone or coke comedown. But diazepam and clonazepam tend to relax me more and "take the edge off" better than xanax - which just fucks me up more than relaxes me.
 
^ I do agree with that but if that is what I would use lets say if i was doing coke I would take the clonazepam right after my last line
 
I'm with maximumstrength2 on this, only it would be 20-25 minutes after I did it. I always have a benzo on hand when I'm planning on using stimulants/psychedelics as part of a chemical "insurance policy".

In fact, I always keep my lorazepam on me in case of a panic attack, benzos are great for that sort of thing as well, it's nice having them around in general, though.
 
^ Did you ever tried Tranxene 50? (as in 50mg in one pill). Strongest benzo I ever experienced.
 
I known that most any benzo will do, but some are better than others. I am surprised to hear so many people voting for the longer acting benzos.

What about mixing a short acting and long acting benzo? Like temazepam for the more intense benzo sedation and diazepam for the longer, more relaxing effects?
 
That would probably be overwhelming unless you got the dosage right.

That's combo is actually what a lot of psychiatrists prescribe for anxiety, a long-acting benzo for daily use and a short-acting benzo for panic attacks. Just like pain doctors prescribing a controlled-release opiate for long term pain relief and an instant release opiate for breakthrough pain..

Interesting way of looking at it though
 
Midazolam-> best benzo for comedowns

kicks in extremly fast (15-20 mins), most straight and to the point benzo out there
 
For amphetamine (methamphetamine included) comedowns, I'd say nitrazepam or diazepam because they are long acting and are quite strong and sedative, especially the nitrazepam.

For cocaine comedowns, I'd say temazepam or triazolam because they are very strong, quick acting and have a short half life.

But really, they ALL work nicely. Lorazepam, clonazepam, alprazolam, flurazepam, oxazepam, prazepam, estazolam, clorazepate, and even chlordiazepoxide (in high doses) all work well. Basically any benzo will do.
 
In the past I have pretty much always used alprazolam for comedown but figured there are probably better choices, hence why I asked everyone's opinion. I believe I will use midazolam or temazepam for my next comedown - which will probably be methylone. If I am having a rough next day I will take a small amount diazepam or clonazepam.
 
Xanax without a doubt, Anyone that says klonopin is tripping. That shit is the worst benzo for a come down. Especially becuase of it's nature of effects.

A. Because it takes about an hour to kick in and take full effect.
B. Because it just doesn't work for come downs
C. Becuase it's duration is long.

I could take 2mg's of xanax for a come down, but if I took klonopin I would definently need more.

It all depends on what you're looking for. Clonazepam is an high potency benzo with powerful anticonvulsant, muscle relaxant, and moderate sedative effects. So alprazolam kicks in a bit quicker, so what?

There are benzo's that have an even quicker onset of action than alprazolam - benzo's like temazepam, triazolam, or diazepam. There are many others, but most are not commercially available in the United States (many hypnotics like nitrazepam, flunitrazepam, midazolam, brotizolam, nimetazepam, lormetazepam, and loprazolam).
 
Diazepam because it kicks in almost right away imo.

It's also because of the muscle relaxing properties that diazepam is so widely prefered.

I'd take some ativan if it was there but from what i've read it can mix BADLY with a mdma comedown; like delusional wacked outness...
