Okay we all know Fatty meals or fat in general helps such Opioids as Oxys be absorbed better. I was wondering if there are any Benzos that absorb better with Fat I remember reading somewhere that it did for Clonazepam can anyone verify if this is true or not that and what other Benzos it works for too.

Food has a significant influence on the bioavailability of XANAX XR Tablets. A high-fat
meal given up to 2 hours before dosing with XANAX XR Tablets increased the mean Cmax by
about 25%. The effect of this meal on Tmax depended on the timing of the meal, with a
reduction in Tmax by about 1/3 for subjects eating immediately before dosing and an increase
in Tmax by about 1/3 for subjects eating 1 hour or more after dosing. The extent of exposure
(AUC) and elimination half-life (t1/2) were not affected by eating.

I do not quite understand what all that means. Sooo what your saying is Fatty Foods or fat in General works in good favor of Xanax a.k.a. Alprazolam can you tell me about other Benzos more Specifically Klonopin A.K.A. Clonazepam that and Valium/Diazepam,Temazepam,Lorazepam and Nitrazepams or is does the Data you just gave me apply for every Benzodiazepine there is or Xanax is just only one with Research done on it?

For best results take the medication sublingually or orally on an empty stomach or light meal. Honestly, it doesn't make much difference whether you take benzodiazepines with or without food, speaking from experience. If you're really worried you can just sublingual them.

^this is my experience as well.

Sure the numbers might increase but in my experimentation, benzo's and opiates seem to hit me harder on an empty stomach. Significantly harder. I've even found that eating while using either drug family will dull the effects-which is a real pain since benzo's cause some hardcore munchies.

Exactly, if there's a 25% change in CMax as stated in shreddedlettuces post, I sure as hell don't notice the difference. I don't take Xanax XR, that's a pretty strange choice of a benzodiazepine for them to do the study with if you ask me, but when I take normal instant release alprazolam bars, it feels SIGNIFICANTLY stronger when taken on an empty stomach.

I get better effects in general when taking opioids on an empty stomach. I sublingual my benzodiazepines for faster onset but would agree that those who take them orally on an empty stomach would feel the best results.

The only opioid I've ever felt worked better with food would be oxymorphone.

Food is said to somewhat enhance the effects of benzodiazepines, but the downside is that it prolongs the onset and peak.

Okay thank you for the replies sooo I know Xanax is potentiated by Fat what about Clonazepam? Remember I am talking about consuming FAT like people do with Oxy to increase BA obviously eating any kind of solid food is not good...... But talking about FAT here lol.

How can you stand the taste of alprazolam when SL'ed? :D It's awful.

Acquired taste I suppose, it tastes like relief to me! Zolpidem, now there is an awful drug (in general) to sublingual.

@OP, Interesting, I've always had wondered something similar, like whether coconut oil taken with a benzodiazepine did anything, or since benzodiazepines are fat soluble, could you dissolve benzodiazepines into a liquid suspension with coconut oil?

Regardless, I take my benzodiazepines sublingually so I've never found any need to aid it's delivery, via the sublingual route I feel very rapid onset, within 5-10 minutes, compared to 10-15 minutes orally, so I never really did any research into my above questions.

^^...ahh...I see..that makes sense (tastes like relief)...and yes, I agree..Zolpidem is seriously nasty via the sublingual route..
