Benzos and socializing

What are the best benzos for socializing? When ever I'm on drugs such as benzos, I'm a very social person and can easily talk to people I've never met before. I don't have a social anxiety disorder or anything, in fact I bet nearly everyone is anxious in social situations. But I know I don't express my personality to the max when I'm sober, often keeping quiet when I know I could be experimenting in a social playground.

I've got access to Valium and Xanax. Which of these in your opinion is best for socializing? And what's the best dose for a person with no tolerance - so that I'm completely anxiety free, but not saying dumb shit and coming across an idiot? Any other benzo better than these two for socializing?

What about mixing a load of drugs in small doses as theoretically wouldn't this block a larger range of receptors and thus feel less anxious? Something like GHB, Valium, Xanax, Clonaz, Alcohol, Cannabis mix? All in TINY dosages so it adds up to one high. Obviously a lot of experimentation would be needed with dosage, don't want a blackout disaster =D

Discuss what drugs have helped you most for social anxiety, and any stories that you have/can remember.
 
Xanax for socializing is a god-send for me. It doesn't feel recreational when I take it like diazepam but, works wonders for what it's actually prescribed for.

xanax was just prescribed to me last week... and I have NO problems in social situationas anymore
i dont even need opiates anymore!!!1

Valium makes me too sedated to want to/care about socializing.
Xanax to me is a bit more stimulating and works much more effectively as a social lubricant. I would suggest trying 0.5mg of Xanax prior to social situations (any more and you're running the risk of getting too sedated and wobbly, unless you have a tolerance, and it might be noticeable to others that you're on something)

Xanax is cool because of it's short half life, I do find valium to be more relaxing though. Try both and see which one you like better.. just don't like em too much and make a habit of it :) Good luck!

Only other benzo I took was klonopin but that sucked for social situations. Wayy to benzoed out on these :-P
 
valium for me. Xanax sometimes makes me get really weird emotionally .... like craving attention. Klonopin just makes me goofy and funny to girls
 
valium definately works for me but thats for anxiety, which do you guys find to be the most euphoric?
 
for me 3-4mg of ativan is perfect.

i don't recommend using drugs to socialize though, it's easy to become a habitual social-situation drug abuser. my problem with gaba drugs (i'm a fairly heavy drinker, i've blacked out 2-3 times in the past 2 weeks) started when i realized that 1,4 b completely erased any social discomfort i might have and not i'm in a mindset of "damn i might feel a little uncomfortable in that situation... time for some malt liquor" which i'm having a hard time getting out of. it's working for now but i know it's not a sustainable solution to anxiety.

from a medical standpoint i believe (could be wrong) that klonopin is the only benzo indicated for social anxiety.
 
^ Don't forget that these meds are for short term regimens.

Any benzo can do, but the ones that cause the least sedation and the most nerve-calming are used.
 
any of them would be good. they work differently for everyone

alprazolam: never did anything for me except give me headaches cause i'd have to take 2-4mg to relieve my anxiety. then 1-2hrs later, i'd be left even more anxious & would have to take more.. horrible

clonazepam: works well for me. the effects are somewhere in-between diazepam and lorazepam

diazepam: the best. effects last for a a couple hours. very smooth. i don't notice a high. i just feel relieved & clear-headed, which is what you want -
(if you're trying to get high, benzos will eventually let you down..and hard)

lorazepam: i find it great for anxiety & panic. dosage-wise, i'd only need .5mg to get by for a few hours on the town. 2mg allows me to sleep soundly


best thing is to try for yourself and use caution. it's incredibly easy to get addicted- like not even realizing it till it's happened. especially if you're using whenever you're in a social situation.. that's not good..

if anything, vary the drugs you use when socializing.. cause eventually the benzos won't work like they used to & you'll need them to do anything at all. yes i speak from experience. my anxiety is much worse now than ever before, and i'm not taking them regularly anymore, tho i've been on and off them since 07'
