Benzos Benzos and booze

I want to try the Alcohol/Benzo combination. I have always avoided combining downers like opitates ands booze or benzos etc because of extreme anxiety reasons and the of the high risk of respitory depression and death. .Id say it takes about 2 mgs of clonazepam or 30 mgs valium for me to have a nice high. I never drink anymore really. Have not had a drink in 1.5 months and when i did it was max once a week.

My question is what would be a good ratio of booze and clonazepam to mix. Say 0.5mg clonazepam and 2 beers? 5mg valium and 1 beer? I have no idea how much of little to take and don't want to end up dead or in the ER.

Anyone with tips/exprience mixing these would be greatly appreciated.

Chris

It's never a good idea to mix benzos and alcohol.

It can be a deadly combination because once you mix them you really can't tell how messed up you are and think you can do more. It happens all the time.

My rule of thumb is never mix your poisions. It is true some drs prescribe muscle relaxers with opiates, but they also (well the good ones) monitor the treatment and adjust the medications accordently. There is still a risk of death even under a drs. supervision.

In the interest of harm reduction there is no real safe way to take benzos and alcohol.

You should either do one or the other. Not both together.

x amount of alcohol : 0mg of any benzo.

go with your original idea and avoid this combo.
:)

Yeah my position on poly drug use is pretty much the same as yours. Its funny though how some can take it or maybe their time with death will come... my best friend will take 8 mgs of clonazepam and drink 6-8 beers and be completly fucked but still live to tell the tale. Plus im sure there are others out there who are much worse when it comes to mixing.

you can die mixing the 2 of course..

i avoid this combo in hopes of not acting
like an idiot, not embarrassing myself,
and to lower the amount of things i'll need to regret later.

i'd say your idea of .5 clonazepam and a beer or two is a safe start
you'll only know by testing yourself, after some experience you will learn your "safe" zone

i have i high benzo tolerance but almost no alcohol tolerance and i took 10mg of ativan and drank 8 beers and blacked out but i was fine my dad said i was acting normal but without a high tolerance i'd say 1mg of klonopin and 4 beers

I have a high alcohol tolerance (I don't drink anything harder than lite beer though) but low benzo tolerance. Anytime I've attempted to mix xanax with drinking I just go right to sleep. Klonopin or valium hit me slower. Either way, alcohol added to benzos are a good recipe for a hangover for me.

The problem with this is that even if you come up with an amount that you want to take, it is very hard to stick to that amount once you get intoxicated by these substances.

You always think that you are fine when you are on alcohol and benzos, and you always think you can take more. That's why you hear about people waking up with an empty bottle of clonazepam on a night that they only planned on taking 2 and having a few beers.

0.5mg and a glass of wine or 1 beer should be a safe amount in regards to not being lethal, but then you have to stop at that amount and not do stupid stuff that can lead to something lethal happening. You are going to think that you are fine to drive, you are going to think that calling up your ex-girlfriend of 6 years is a swell idea, you are going to think that you can easily take that 6ft 6; 250lb dude, so you are going to try to make out with his fugly girlfriend in front of him.

But I digress. If you really want to do this then have a "baby-sitter" and make sure they don't let you do anything stupid, and definitely make sure that they don't let you take more than you initially set out to take. The amounts that you mentioned [0.5mg clonazepam and 2 beers? 5mg valium and 1 beer?] will not kill you, but you need to have a plan for stopping at that amount.

1mg clonazepam/ 10mg valium, don't exceed 3 drinks. Im not a heavy drinker and have basically no tolerance to benzo's and this i was fine with. Although while i think this combination isn't that dangerous, smoke weed instead. Cones on top of clonazepam made it feel like my first time, hysterical laughter, creative thoughts etc. I haven't enjoyed weed in years, but with this..
Might be good to mention, i had friends there that could take care of me if things went bad. Ive blacked out from alcohol alone, but never from Benzo's.

TommyBoy said it well. The problem with combaining drugs that inhibits your behaviour is that at some point you can become so frightening reckless you don't necessarily care anymore if you take the whole bottle and die. Or you don't understand anymore what you are doing so its very dangerous to have pills around in that kind of situation. When I was young, immortal and stupid I had a bad habit with mixing all different drugs. Sometimes I think I got an angel with me because despite of my selfdustructive behaviour I never hurt myself.

Edit: Removed the amounts I had used..

ive took 1mg etizolam and drank alot of alcohol plenty of times, i find it makes me a really happy confident drunk. just keep the benzo dose low, take what is enough not to feel the benzo physically but just mentally mild, if you know what i mean

Chris, you were asking on TDS about anxiety which I hope you know is totally natural. Now you're asking about benzo booze combinations. I didn't have a problem with the mix until one awful day in the summer of 2009. After fighting with my publisher, I took a handful of vals and lorazepam and drunk a few beers. I was housesitting at the time and when I hadn't turned up for work an old girlfriend let herself into the flat and found me flat out. I was rushed to King's College Hospital and straight to resus. Now I was stupid, can't tell you how much I took but it was only beer I was drinking. So yeah there is a safe, happy medium but you push that and you might have to spend a day chatting to pysch nurses persuading them that you weren't trying to kill yourself to avoid getting sectioned! I can actually laugh about this now and have since mixed both but I suppose what I'm saying is tread carefully! Listen to Black Grapes 'Temazepam party' as this malarky can be good fun but jesus, it's dangerous!

i've mixed these two way too often. when i was injecting flunitrazepam regularly, i'd go out, have a few glasses of whiskey, feeling great and suddenly something snapped, i don't know, i'd black out and do the craziest shit. some of it was actually funny in retrospect while other instances where downright frightening.
and i have to add that i have quite a robust tolerance to both alcohol and benzos. the thing is the combination is completely unpredictable, even if you did it a million times. i'm an irresponsible moron obviously. start really slow if you want to try it, don't drink hard liquor, stick to beer and don't guzzle it.
