Misc benadryl [diphenhydramine] 400mg

Please forgive me if I posted this in wrong section. Now I understand that this isn't really a "Fun" trip but it's something I want to experience first hand and hopefully will make me appreciate being sober more. I want to take about 16-18 benadryls 25mg per pill. My questions are is this harmful for a one time thing? What should I expect? If you really encourage me not to do this then why? The only active ingredient is diphenhydramine and I am a big guy 6ft 210 lbs so 400mg may also not hit me as hard as others.

if you understand its not fun, why do it? its gonna dry out your mouth, make you delirious, not in a fun drunk way, but in a naked screaming at your neighbor's dog as you bleed all over the paramedics kinda way... well 400mg might not be that bad, and im thinking of datura really... the point is, deliriants are POINTLESS, you won't remember anything, i once took a similar dose, and started thinking i was in the passenger seat while driving, almost killed myself and a friend... just... have a sitter at least...

Is taking a fuckload of DPH acutely harmful? probably not.

What to expect? Go read Erowid trip reports... dry mouth, confusion, insomnia, hallucinations, possibly waking up in a jail cell. Some people are "lucky" and higher doses of DPH just knock them out.

Should you avoid taking DPH? Yes. It's not described by *anyone* as being fun.

sigh..... why do people like to experiment with benedryl?? i'd rather get really drunk anyday over downing 400mg of dph, and i dont like alcohol that much. just be like a sane person and buy some booze or some weed if you have access to it. unless you live in the middle east, you probably be able to find alcohol easily (unless you are under age)

seriously, just go to the store and buy some pure DXM syrup instead. the experience will be much better!! trust me, dont go fucking around taking a whole box of benedryl. there is no high, and ou most likely develop psychosis and start hallucinating. and not the good hallucinations either. think of staying up for 6 days straight without food hallucinations. yah, seeing shadow people is not fun..

Why would you want to do this? It is literally the most uncomfortable feeling ever. Nobody I know has ever described a benydral trip as even semi-pleasant. When I did it, I've never felt so shitty and hated a high so much.

It causes intense delirium with a really nasty/dirty and uncomfortable body high.

Such a waste of time. The dry mouth sucks but even worse is the restless leg syndrome it causes. It can also cause your muscles to tense up all over your body.

A couple of friends I had back in high school tried this, every single one of them ended up doing some crazy shit and most got in trouble with their parents because of it (lucky they didn't end up in jail or the hospital). They only did it once and all of them strongly suggested that it was a thoroughly unenjoyable experience and a mistake. Don't do it. If you're curiosity cannot be satisfied and you must do it, be super safe and definitely have a sitter.

I ended up doing it. It wasn't too bad when I realized that I was in my bed not in the middle of the woods being chased by something. I don't regret it but I will never touch or look at benadryl again.

i did in my younger dumb days. the deliriousness was just too weird. I kept thinking I was smoking a cigarette and dropping on my bed and talking to my friends when I really wasnt doing any of those things. It also used to give me horrendous dry mouth to the point Id have difficulty swallowing and Id feel like I was suffocating.
these days, tryin to stay off opi's, i have such a hard time going to sleep. I started taking DPH to go to sleep and it doesnt give me as bad as side effects anymore, but my tolerance is also pretty high to the point like 8 benadryl dont even have an effect on me. kinda annoying.

What should I expect?

From 350mg I got: mild ataxia, cotton mouth, tremor, GI distress, general weirdness, some interesting thoughts/memories bubbling up. Also some minor auditory hallucinations, and slight visuals (in the dark, or CEV).

If you really encourage me not to do this then why?

No reason not to as far as I'm concerned, unless you have any other drug on hand, or have constipation and are worried about making it worse (anti-cholinergics do have some efficacy as anti-diarrheals).

When I first started taking SJW, therapeutic doses of dph for sleep would have me fade into these crazy dreams/hallucinations, often terrifying, that I would quickly snap out of. It was really cool.
