I only watched this movie to see more of Nick Robinson after seeing him in Love Simon (2018. )the encouraging coming-of-age tale of a high school kid coming out as gay and in Everything, Everything (2017) the uplifting romantic-drama of two disparate kids finding love against the odds. Of course I saw more of Nick in a love scene with Morgan Saylor.

The subject matter of Being Charlie, a drug addicted teen of a wealthy, white, privileged dysfunctional family is more difficult to enjoy. Director Rob Reiner worked with the story of his son Nick Reiner, who personally had problems with drug use, so it may have been more a work of love than a commercial success.

To put it in the vernacular of my own drug use days, "Sort of a Downer."
BTW, this movie was panned by the aggregate critics on Rotten Tomatoes with only a 24% fresh and only 38% of audiences liked it.
