Being addicive

Hi - have a huge problem but will get to that after the intro. I am an 45 Yo (omg SAID IT) mother of 3 living in the backwoods of NY. Only say that cause was broudght up in Sydney Australia, and NYC. Am very depentdant on benzos to make my life try to go smoothly. Is there anything wrong with stayting on on them if you have an anxiety disorder. All I read makes me think I should get off them. But at the same time what about the quaility of life? If I have a disease (addiciton, alcoholisim) why is it treated with such distain? Anyhow, if someone has some idea as to what you think I should do, please let me know. I take Gabapentin for the interwithdrawal affects.
Basically my question is - why remove the benzos if they help my life?

This isn't really the sub forum to discuss it, but from what I have read the longer you're on benzo's the more tolerance you build and the harder it is to get off. There is this benzo mega thread in Other Drugs which you could read here
