The shrink would not prescribe me any stimulants such as Dexedrine or Ritalin for my ADD because of my earlier diagnosis of "psychosis." What I got, instead, was Strattera. Does this drug have ANY recreational value? I can't find much information about the drug on here; I've seen threads on here that only discuss taking Strattera with MDMA.

If you want to feel like you've been hit by a bus, maybe.
It's not recreational. And before you ask, we don't discuss talking to doctors for any reason here...

Well does it AT LEAST work by diminishing ADD symptoms? Is it effective as Dexedrine or Ritalin in that regard? I haven't heard much about this stuff.

According to my doctor and several of my friends, no it's crap. I've never tried it though, I asked my doctor about it and he thought stimulants was a much better option. My girlfriend said she felt alot worse when she started eating these pills.

edit: Just because they did not work for some people and my doctor dismisses it, is no reason to at least give it a try. I mean it must be of some use to someone, otherwise they would make no money from it. This is one of those medications that unfortunately can make you feel worse in the beginning (like SSRI meds) though. Stick with it and maybe it will work, I would try at least.

It's a failed anti depressant with an indication for ADD but your doctor is right to avoid stimulants with psychosis in mind. Find another recreational drug if you must :)

17 days on strattera and I love it and I never thought I would because I listened to all the stories.

I have never felt more alive and 'with it' in my life (other than peaking on LSD).
Give it a couple weeks, it'll start feeling like a stimulant.
I am not so ADD anymore.

Don't underestimate increased Norepinephrine.

And one other thing, it may be a failed anti-depressant, but it makes me feel really good, like I have been reborn, HAL-LA-LU-YA, praise da lard bye!

They tried to put me on that shit when I was 16 and it makes me sick to my stomach and my mouth would not stop salivating it was so disgusting on its own.
