I know this requires 4 years of school in the US, but does anyone have any info on the classes you'd need to take every year? Average pay in the US? How difficult is it to find a pharmacist job? (not pharmacology researcher, I've been told pretty much every science researching job is boring and shitty. Either working for a pharmacy or owning one.)

And, before you ask (everyone has), no I'm not interested in becoming one so I can steal drugs, I'd be too afraid to because I don't want to get prison raped. I'm interested because I've never found any subject anywhere near as interesting as pharmacology.

pharmacology is interesting but pharmacological research is boring? how do these two thoughts co-exist?

Check this link out: http://www.bls.gov/ooh/Healthcare/Pharmacists.htm#tab-1

The website is pretty informative if you want to become a Pharmacist.

I'm also considering going into the same field. Been doing nothing with my life, been in out of college since I was 18 with no goals ahead but this field seems to be the only thing I'm interested in.

Is there any current Pharmacists on this website that might have some personal experience to share about becoming one?

I know a bit about pharmacy but I'm from aus, so I'm not sure if it's the same. Throught uni you study pharmacology, pharmacodynamic, pharmacokinetics, physiology, microbiology, and pharmacy practice (such as ethics, law, essentially how a pharmacist should practice)

Yes pharmacology is interesting but some of the other topics are really horrible and think about it how often to pharmacist tell there patients about the pharmacology of a drug, the patient wouldn't have a clue what is being said.
To be a good pharmacist you have to like people, have a good basis of knowledge on all drugs and have good communication skills. But not all pharmacist are like that.

But I must warn you it was be very mundane.

Don't know about wages and job availability is US

I'm Aus there are a few main areas you can work in, industry, hospital and community. I believe community pharmacy can be more about profits than patients health, hospital is more
Clinical and it requires more knowledge but less patient interaction

I'm training to be a pharmacy technician. It's fascinating. The pharmacy where I intern is SO busy we can't keep the scripts filled fast enough. That place is so busy it's literally mind boggling. When I leave after my shift, I feel like I'm coming down off a hard stim or some shit e. I'm pumping adrenalin and hot as hell, coated in sweat, and exhausted. But for some reason it's the most exciting job I've ever known or tried.
