Perth people going to delerious summer festival. . .
i've been told there will be loads of police WITH sniffer dogs searching people as they go in to delerious, then inside random searches without dogs.
so the problem is getting in without any hitches, i've been told that police can and will perform strip searches so long as 2 female officers are present, so this makes giving the stuff to the girl not much help.
Um so are there any tricks to beat sniffer dogs and strip searches (apart from putting it internally), oh and i know you can just drop before, but you can't do that with the whole stash. . .
so what can people do to combat a great day being ruined either by confiscation or worse??
also i know there was a similar thread recently, but i don't think it mentioned dogs.
are there any ways to make it less easy to detect, ie. i heard coating the bag with pepper and hiding it in underwear is good, what do you think?

i read this idea in another thread and i still reckon its the best.
find some vitamins that look similar to your pills, halve your pills and mix em in with the vitamins so they are recognisable(to you). so then the cops/security can look right at your pills in your vitamin jar without knowing it.
cept i know this is hard if you have the red HQ's or something similarly colored.

if the journey's fun, it's well worth taking.

PLEEEEEAAAAASSSEEE ABBY!!! tell us if this is just a rumour or if it is FACT!.. i thought they could only strip search at the station, or that was the case in perth at least!!! And i thought they weren't allowed sniffer dogs at things like that!!!! There must be some right abused here. I don't want to be sniffed and searched everytime i go out to an event!.. it is insane!

in my opinion, its mostly just media hype.. delirium have said that the police prescence will only be slightly greater than at mos and sci fi.. with like a possible mobile unit there, and a RBT setup.. they seriously doubt that there'll be sniffer dogs there..
the best thing to do is just go and have a good time.. the only way they can search you is by taking you back to the station.. in which case they have to have reasonable doubt that your carrying something illegal.. and i cant see them ferrying hundreds of people to the station to search everyone..

hey this is the latest from delirium

Hi everyone,
Just a quick post to allay everyone's fears about Sunday ..
I am sure that most will have seen the news reports and it has been beaten up out of all proportion.
The Police are allaying fears that they seem to think the public may have after The Pines incident on the weekend.
There will be a Police presence at 'Delirious' but not a huge one ... it will probably be no bigger than that which was at Ministry of Sound ar Sci-Fi last NYE (which most of you probably didn't even notice!). It is unlikely that they will have sniffer dogs but they may have an RBT set-up and an on-site mobile police unit.
At the end of the day just be careful and responsible ... and there will be no problems. If 'Delirious' goes smoothely; and we are sure it will; we will all send a strong message to the powers that be that they have over-reacted and that the community has nothing to fear from our music ... our scene ... and our events.

Hmmm, that's some fuct up shit right there.
To combat this sort of thing at the Midland wharehouse raves (anyone go to any?) we took the pedestrian route. They were searching cars and people etc, and we managed to get through no probs on foot.
Combining that with the fact that NO-ONE I know wants to drive, I think I'll go in by train. The shuttle bus thing they have set up is pretty shit tho. heh, how easy would it be for coppers to search the busload? [edit]my mistake, shuttle bus service is good in the morning/afternoon. Runs from 11-3. It stops running back at 11pm tho. And I'm not leaving till Laurent is finished... maybe I'll have to get arrested for a ride home

On a side note Abby, I'm sure this goes without saying, but please be careful putting anything that's coated in pepper in you undies!
smile.gif
I don't think its a good option for the boys.
k. I'm going to find a way around this. At least some suggestions. I have a little experience, and hence some ideas already. Not being allowed to bring in food is a problem...
Such things I think should not be published here. That is possibly just giving the ideas away to the coppers. Anyone feel free to email a request for my ideas, and send your own as well. I have a list of email addresses which has most of the PBLC addys in it, and I can circulate.
If there are doggies, I'll be having words to some coppers. It's intimidating. People that are going to simply watch some of their favourite artists, and not do anything illegal are still intimidated and turned off by their presence. I don't think that there will be many people there that haven't done *something* illegal in the past. eg "oh fuck did I have pot in this bag last month?"
Delirious is looking less attractive by the day. And I don't have my ticket yet...
I'd really like some confirmation on this. Email to delirium in progress now. I'm not going to get too stressed until I get confirmation. But I can well believe that this will happen.
Anyone have access to a helicopter or a light aircraft for a reconaissance of the area in the morning?

Hello,
Just to answer everyone's questions regards the 'Delirious' Festival on Sunday ...
The Police are taking a pro-active stance after The Pines incident of last weekend. The news reports of tonight were highly sensationalised and talk about sniffer dogs and body searches are way out of line.
The Police feel it necessary to make a statement that they will not tolerate drug-dealers in the area ... they are likely to be at 'Delirious' ... they have suggested that will set up a mobile police unit in the carpark ... and they will wander about. They have reassured us that unless an incident occurs they will not be taking an intimidatory approach with sniffer dogs and the like. Like always be careful and responsible ... it is as simple as that.
As we have posted on the Teknoscape site ... the Police and Council want to ensure that a positive image emerges from the weekends event .... if everyone goes along and has a good time and behaves themselves then the Police won't feel it necessary to grandstand like they have done so this week.
PLEASE ... do not stress ... the reality is that there is a Police presence at most of our larger events and most of you don't even see them ... it will be no different on Sunday.
Spread the word ... also weather is looking warm for Sunday so bring a hat; sunnies and sunglasses ...
Peace ...

hi jeremy/puff/ash (whoever it is posting) i was wondering when you guys would start posting on here........yes i'm everywhere

rc1n is someone you are also familiar with (think of an itm guy with a name that rhymes with rc1n)
thank god you are putting to rest rumours about the police and ur events, i heard from an extremely paranoid friend last night that there would be full bag searches and body searches (not strip) by the police of everyone entering the venue, i just laughed it off. anyway cya sunday
later

A friend said they did pat down searches at the BDO on entry??!
i guess this is mainly for alcohol and weapons, but seriously this cannot be legal.
The sniffer dog things sounds ridiculous, that couldnt be allowed surely; some sort of health thing?.
I just had an idea about the dogs if they did try and pull it; if its all around them, how can they pinpoint anything, they'll just go around in circles.
But i know for a fact some people have said fuck it and will now not go. People that are in the army and studying law; say its not worth the risk, and they werent necessarily going to do anything; its scared people and imo taken all enjoyment, or at least anticipation out of the event.
Dont get me wrong, i am not referring to not being able to enjoy the music and the event without endulging. I meant the thought that u r going to be violated as such without having done a thing. As far as i am concerned body searches should not be legal unless u r suspected of something; and walking into an event cannot be such.
Yes Delirium has cushioned the blow on BL, but what about the majority of people out there; the media rules this country; what they say will be believed by the masses.
Any omg, what sort of queues are we going to have to put up with if they search every single thing.

i've been told that police can and will perform strip searches so long as 2 female officers are present
I am SO down with that! How much is a ticket to Delerious

God I hate the media and cops, they are such a bunch of wankers.
I was watching the news last night and my favourite quote would have to be "Drug dealers will be preying on party goers."
Like we have to be protected from them becuase they bully us into buying drugs.
They have no idea what-so-ever.
As for the cops strip searching and having sniffer dogs. We'll I'd like to see that. I don't think they would. I mean that dog would get pretty tired sniffing 6000 people. He'd probably pass out, or atleast need to have regular breaks in the chill out tent.

It gives a new relevence to plugging thats all i can say.
In the paper though tody it was a lot less sensational than the news:
It suggested that there will be a visible police presence (fine), bags might be searched (also ok if the circumstances warrant it, but unlike most events people r going to want to bring in a heap of shit; like a change of clothes, towel, sunscreen etc) and undercovers will be patrolling the area. (thats always the case and its understandable)
In the words of Jeremy "i dont want our customers to feel like they are going to be unfairly scrutinised when they just want to have a good day".
Thats exactly the point, and hopefully it will not happen.
I once read a case where the police unfairly searched (pat down type touching near certain areas) a person who was previously abused in his childhood. Needless to say it was fucking traumatic for the poor guy and the lawyers trampled over everyone that was involved.

This is pretty gay...
Good ole perth sensationalism media putting a dampner on what should have been a sensational event.
Dont get me wrong I'll still be there with bells on but a lot of people have been put off by our retarded media.
Whoever writes these stories is a complete twat but because of perths follow the leader mentality some dork starts a rumour and in an hour someones brothers uncles goldfishes best mates dead monkey told me ... But they are dead certain there right...
Shit im off track...
But yeah shit stiring in perth is easy and rumours about shit like this start up so fast its not funny.
Then theres our retarted media/police who think jeez we busted a huuuuge rave guys well done, pats on the back all round eh.
But then shit they think now theres these big evil drug dealers 'stuck' with all these drugs.
Get a clue people.
I dont know about you guys but generally dealers arnt forcing drugs on me or anyone.
If i want something I get it and theres no two ways about it.
But like fuck the dealers will have any extra from last weekend anyway. If people planned to go to pines they would have bought in advance and i have no doubt about that. Only people with excess biccies were the party goers not dealers and I think I must have seen all 2000 of them popped off there nuts trying to find something to entertain them in northbridge.
I mean come on coppers get a clue....
But now the media gets a sniff of the coppers retarded mentality and think YES this is a story something mroe to winge about todays young people and all the trouble they cause with their out of control drug habits.
Lets tell their parents what they really do on the weekend when they think their inocent children are out drinking.
Then comes the big Cliche RAVE
Most adults today here the word RAVE and instantly its a few thousand out of control young people ALL of them on ONLY X and hundreds of drug dealers preying on us weak minded fools who have no mind of our own and must kill steal and whatever to fund increasing appitie for drugs which of course allways leads us to shooting up heroin and dying from an overdose. Because according to the media this is what young people do these days.
Besides my mindless drivel I did have a point to all this .
Problem being I'm so fucked on drugs I could never think straight or so anyone who follows the media thinks.
So then I mustn't have a clue what im on about. Just ramblings of another drug fucked youth, so you wouldnt pay any attention to me would you.
But anyway I think i'll keep going with my tripe get it all offf my chest so to speak.
I think that something of a contributing factor to all this crap is all the shit stirred up on a certain notice board over the last few weeks. Not to directly point the finger but having the pines and delerious advertised on the same page with direct links to drugs and most of the page filled with completly mindless rubbish doesnt make us look good. Someone takin a glance at the internet with no previous knowledge of the board in question would automatically jump to the conclusion that the two are going hand in hand
Pines - Well it says here its a rave
Delerious - Totally different, it even says its music festival, but no its on the same page therefore delerious = RAve
theres that word RAVE again
Rave = Drugs
but then two clicks away is a board full of the most retarded drug fuckt comments you could find on the internet all on the same site.
Doesnt Look good does it.
I mean this will all blow over and everything will be fine n dandy in a couple of weeks but every year some shit gets stirred up by our fuck it jump to conclusion sensationalist media and it really shits me.
Now we have a load more uneducated people reading it in the paper and seeing it on the news and it makes us look that whole lot worse than we are.
Anyway I had to dribble my shit
flame if you will
tell me im an idiot
But thats how I see things arround perth at the moment
Some one needs to open there eyes
and without naming names
Its the retarded media and police in perth
Thanks For listening

In response to Abby, regarding sniffer dogs and using pepper in your undies to distract from the goodies smell. This is a fallacy, I'm sorry to say.
Sniffer dogs are not only trained to detect the smell of illicits they are also trained to smell unusual smells and changes in smells. Pepper is an unusual smell and tends to alert the dosg slightly. If the dog trainer is good he will detect a change in the dogs behaviour and take a better look at the bag or person involved.
There is very little chance of this being a problem in these circumstances, but better to be safe than sorry.
apparantly if you wrap stuff in glad wrap it can contain odour quite well. Obviously you'll need to put it somewhere but glad wrap helps.
Hope this is useful.

If what abby says is true i am not going. period. not because i will have drugs on me (which I won't) but because getting sniffed and searched on entry will ruin the whole fucking event. We aren't leaving the country for fucks sake!! we are congregating!!
If what abby says isn't true and delirium is right (which I hope and will go with for now) then that is a pretty rude rumour to be spreading.. you sound like you have an authoritive source, but without substantiation a post like yours maybe does more harm then good.
Either way it all sux.
frown.gif
But hopefully.. if it all goes smoothly.. we will have a bigger and better delirious festival next year without all this bullshit.. perhaps its a first time thing? it is the first event of its kind/scale in perth and the police are probably getting a bit edgy. totally agree with you fry-d.. there were even shots of technoscape on the channel 7 news (is that the one at 6?). I recorded all three channels news.
smile.gif
(sad aren't i)
The internet does a lot of work for the police i am guessing..
frown.gif

Dreaming of day when we have the right to put what we want in our bodies, as long as we don't hurt anyone.
frown.gif

I am pretty sure that in 50 or so years people will look at MDMA prohabition today like we do alcohol prohabition.
For now though maybe the police should be treated with contempt and respect. Contempt for what they are trying to do and how they are going about it.. and respect for how much they can fuck up our lives if we don't do what they say or are unfortunate enough to get caught.
sorry for the length of post..

i wish the media would jump on the case everytime someone dies because of excessive alcohol, binge drinking etc.. or everyone time someone dies from lung cancer because they've smoked all their lives..
put that on the front page everytime it happens and maybe society will see which drugs are doing the most harm..
anyway, as delirium said, hopefully the police presence (which is fair enough at any festival) is non intrusive then i dont think there will be any problems.. let the ignorant public believe what they want to hear.. its funny because a lot of people know the media is full of shit, but still believe every little rumour that pops up do to with drugs

I've got a mate that swears by taping his pills in a satty to his ballsack!
I used to laugh, until I had 4 pills taken off me going into Utopia. Now the idea of pulling sticky-tape off my scrotum doesn't seem too bad!
wink.gif

LOL at Fry-mo. dood, that's why you should shave your balls in the first place. besides being cleaner and more hygenic, you don't get the trouble with the tape pulling your pubes out
smile.gif
.
and to pom^, werd. i wish the media would buy some balance, for fuck's sake. why can't they look more closely at every drug used by society, legal or illicit. oh, hang on, i just detoured to fairy land for a second there. the media are there to sell papers and advertising space, not to disseminate truth and correct information. i apologise for my flight of fancy.
to robo-t, if you don't go, then they've won. full stop. don't give them the satisfaction. go anyway, and have a fucken' wikkid time. that'll really fuck 'em.
wink.gif

hey fry-d- loved the ramble. it's pretty much how i feel also. but the way i get back at them is by going anyway, and having shit loads of fun. fuck the media, fuck 'mainstream' society, fuck the cops and fuck anyone else that thinks they know what's best for me. i'm having a great time, and if they're jealous then they can get fucked.
however, to end it, i'd say it's more like delirious said, low key presence, and a booze bus at the end of the night. if you're low key about it and don't panic, then you shouldn't have any trouble, and make sure you're back on terra firma before driving home. there's no more reason for the cops to take you in for a search or whatever than that spaced look on your face.
smile.gif

hope to meet everyone there, and have fucking awesome day.

just to clear up something, Robo-t - there has been a festival similar to this in Perth before...Sonik '98. 5 tents, skate demos, rides, and a fence-line of police who shut it down at 3am. I guess the difference was that it was at night.
