sorry for my poor english~~

hi,i m tx,i been suffering from schizo for 3 years already(note:i do not have any postive symptom only negative and a little irritablity and impatient wtih people),and had tried tons of antipsychotic and anti depressant and it doesnt work,and i found out that u once mentioned in this forum that medicne like adderall,ritalin or vyvanse works for negative symptom of schizophrenia....may i know what dose do u take??and which type adderall,ritalin or vyvanse??from the symptom i mentioned to u(negative symptom,irritability and impatient with people),do u think i need some mood stabilizer or anti depressant b4 i start taking the amphetamine??

btw do u have any type of instant messenger where i can contact u??please kindly reply me if u have seen this message,i m in pain and suffering right now

i m taking abilify 15mg and also NAC(2.4gram per day)

Then what makes you think you have schizophrenia? From wiki:
According to the revised fourth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV-TR), to be diagnosed with schizophrenia, three diagnostic criteria must be met:[61]

Characteristic symptoms: Two or more of the following, each present for much of the time during a one-month period (or less, if symptoms remitted with treatment).
Delusions
Hallucinations
Disorganized speech, which is a manifestation of formal thought disorder
Grossly disorganized behavior (e.g. dressing inappropriately, crying frequently) or catatonic behavior
Negative symptoms: Blunted affect (lack or decline in emotional response), alogia (lack or decline in speech), or
avolition (lack or decline in motivation)

If the delusions are judged to be bizarre, or hallucinations consist of hearing one voice participating in a running commentary of the patient's actions or of hearing two or more voices conversing with each other, only that symptom is required above. The speech disorganization criterion is only met if it is severe enough to substantially impair communication.

I don't see how just having 'negative symptoms' qualifies you, maybe you should get a second opinion.
 
yes skillet,sorry i forget to mention,i had thought block and thought disorder b4 i took abilify,and now after i take it its a gone,now i just deal with this sickening and very mean "negative and cognitive" symptom*,but i did stop meds for 4 months i did not have any thought disorder or thought block but i still feel negative and cognitive symptom and my doc wants me to be on abilify to prevent relapse....

unbreaker,although i did not try typical antipsychotic,but i tried every other atypicals 1s,except clozapine,all didnt help iwth my negative or cognitive symptom

now what bothers me the most is asocial,alogia and social withdrawal~~
 
Oh ok, was it severe (the thought disorder), and were you aware of it?
Have you tried amisulpride, it's supposed to be slightly stimulating in lowish doses (<200mg)? And yeah, you could try amphetamine, I'd go with the lowest dose that has an effect, I guess 15-30mg, and use it sparingly. Can't you ask your doc to try it?
 
it isnt servere,but i wasnt aware of it,becoz i thought it is normal,but my doctor said i had thought block,at 1st i felt like i was totally lied and put on this fucking medicine which cause my negative and cognitive symptom,but well since its over,i wont waste time dwelling over it , now i must find a treatment...i have tried amisulpride 100mg,but it doesnt help and been on it for a month....yes i will try amphetamine,and i will ask my doctor(as i seen alot of people do well on adderall,ritalin,vyvanse+antipsy),but people with predominant negative symptom only...i m going to visit my psychiatrist in 3 days time,but i dunno how to start or convince him to put me on adderall or vyvanse,as i m from malaysia,and the doctor here is very concern of psotive symptom and put 0 interest in negative symptom*
 
So did you not have the negative symptoms before taking any drugs? I've thought for a while that many of them sound like symptoms of reduced dopamine neurotransmission caused by antipsychotics, and it's difficult to find out if they're typically present before starting treatment.
 
no,i do not have negative symptom(anhedonia,apathy,asocial,avolition) b4 taking the invega(my 1st anti psychotic),but i have stopped for 4 months anti psychotic and my negative and cognitive symptom did not improve...i was thinking of combining my abilify and a amphetamine to hope that it can treat my neg and cog symptom...i went to theraphy b4,the therapist told me a few method to calm down and also think positively,but i just coulden do it,i m still withdrawn around people,and coulden think(poverty of thoughts)....but i been getting mix review on google search and schizophrenia.com that people on amphetamine,some say they felt an imrpovement in neg and cog symptom,some say they found no difference...i wonder abilify will stop my effect of adderall or vyvanse*....and i found out that vyvanse was in trial for negative symptom of schizophrenia and the result were positive,so i might bvring this to the doctor and see what he will say...
 
Ok, then I still don't see why you were diagnosed with schizophrenia if your only symptom was thought disorder. Was it causing you problems, you said it was mild? So you've basically replaced a 'symptom' that you didn't notice with debilitating cognitive deficits, and are thinking of taking more drugs to fix that. Maybe then you can add some benzos to counteract the side effects of the amphetamine. Sounds a bit crazy to me! 8(

I'd imagine the negative symptoms would eventually go away if you stopped taking the drugs, though it sounds like it might take a looong time. 4 months is already a really long time!
 
it wasnt causing me any problem,but i will be visiting a doc in 2 days time,i m reallt doubtful he would prescribed me adderall or vyvanse,but i would go to a new doctor if he isnt willing to prescribed me and i heard people from europe or usa was prescribed adderall,ritalin or vyvanse+atipsychotic to fight their negative symptom~~and now what bothers me the most is asocial and apathy...if not i will take clozapine~~
 
becoz the doctor insist,and that time i was young( 18 ) doesnt know anything about psychiatrist,so i thought "hey taking some meds woulden harm right" so i agreed,but for me it really isnt a problem the thought disorder...but iw as wrong,now i dreadfully regret and hope time can be turned back but well now i must find a treatment only*
 
If you have been on and off mood-blunting drugs but do not see the relation they have to your signs and symtoms, a long detox with a good diet and excercise regime will do a lot more for you in the long run. Getting a script for Vyvanase would be a temporary fix.

Excatly, if you didn't need them in the first place I'd stop taking them (gradually, though I doubt there's much withdrawal from 15mg abilify) and wait for my brain to recover, though it sounds like it will take a long time. Low doses of amphetamine used sparingly while you recover shouldn't hurt and would give you a bit of a boost if it's getting too much.
 
mukaki,how long does it take sarcosine for u to work??and also can some1 help me check if adderall or vyvanse is avialable thru prescribtion in malaysia??
