Benzos Average length of Clonazepam?

I wanted to get some feedback on peoples' reactions with clonazepam. I've read it lasts up to 50 hours, and the first time I took it I appeared to remain under its influence for at least that long. However, in order to better know what to expect next time I take it, I wanted to ask the bluellight population how they felt about Clonazepam. How long do you feel it affects you, and how popular is it around you?

Be aware that half-life does not mean how long a drug remains effective.

Clonazepam has not ever been effective for me so I can't be objective here.
 
Aah, thank you tricomb, I was mistaking half-life for effectiveness and now I wonder if I was just giving myself a placebo effect after the drug lost effect.

And I also appreciate the benzo equivalency link in your sig, very useful!

I'm still interested to know, does anyone else feel Clonazepam lasts for longer than four hours? I read in wikipedia that a common side effect is lethargy the morning after taking clonazepam because of its long half life - any experiences agreeing or disagreeing? Or any advice with this pharmaceutical in geberal?
 
duration and strength depend on many factors such as have you ever taken a klonopin or any other benzo before or in other words, do you have a tolerance?

my first benzo was klonopin and i took 1mg that day. i smoked weed on it and i found it to be euphoric and i definitely felt the effects hardcore. the next day was extremely chill so i could say it lasted into the next day.

after multiple years of taking benzos like klonopin and xanxa on and off, 1mg of klonopin peaks in 2-3 hours and overall last 5-8 hours. i do take it with tagamet which increase peak duration and elongates effects felt

sublingual is fun, i love the 1mg green minty ones, they taste soo good hahahha. orally works just as well though. i do both ways ;)
 
I was really let downw ith clonazepam considering how long the half life is.. the effects did not seem nearly comparible to alprazolam mg for mg, and what affect they did have lasted about 6 hours. Now I guess some effects like helping me sleep a bit better might linger around 12-14 hours... I read somewhere that it takes 3-4 hours to peak and I think that is total bullshit. I would feel the dose/high (if you call ti that) 40-100 minutes after I dosed.
 
Poppin kpins all day today to assist in a damn viscous stim comedown. Work very well took 2mg at noon, still feel it good and it's been 11 hours. I have experienced the paradoxical effects from clon but thank got it just feels benzo-ish not crazy bad feelings like I had once.
 
Well, I can give you my experience on it. I'm not a doctor but i am a patient who has Gran Mal Seizures and I was given Clonazepam from my Neurologists because I have tremors in my hands really bad. And i think it is THE BEST THING HE COULD HAVE EVER GIVEN ME!! Seriously! I don't know about it lasting for 50 hours however it is a very powerful drug as far as making you very, very, very sleepy. So what probably happened with YOU is that you took it and it made you sleepy and you probably woke up and still was sleepy and had no choice but to lay back down cause the medication was still in your system. Now, for me it doesn't last long. I take 0.5 tablet once a day at night time. And I wake up refreshed and ready to go (and i work shift work in a 24x7 call center) with no tremors and i can function all day as if i don't have tremors. So what i would do is speak with your doctor about it and let him know your history and perhaps you wont need a high dosage of it. My dosage is very high but understand I am a seizure patient so its perfect for me.

OMG! well for those of you who have severe insomnia i would not waist my Xanax trying to get to sleep bcuz its not gonna really make you sleepy you have to take something else with it. Now my doctor has authorized me at one point to take Xanax and Ambian together and i slept really well. But now i don't need either one of them because Clonazepam does it ALL..I LUV IT!.. And he told me that it is a VERY STRONG DRUG. Remember, TOLERANCE LEVELS have alot to do with it. my Clonazepam is 0.5mg its not strong TO ME but.., i am on 3-4 seizure medications so its not strong for me..so see that's what i mean by tolerance. Some people I know have SLEPT AND ENTIRE DAY on the dosage i have. The Human Body is VERY COMPLEX. Be careful everybody;)

Thank You everyone for all your input! In my case, I have only had one kind of benzo, etizolam, before and I believe I took 1 mg of it the day before I took 2 mg of Clonazepam. I definitely still felt the clonazepam, but I could imagine it would be more potent if I had not taken the etizolam the day before. As noted in the above replies, I agree that one of the best uses for clonazepam lie in its anti-convulsant properties. I personally do not suffer from symptoms like these, except occasionally when I smoke cannabis or tobacco and my muscles start to randomly tweak out if its lower quality stuff, but I love the idea of simply taking a chill pill. Of course, i've read loads and loads about benzo addiction and am wary of my intake for that reason but I truly enjoy the (only) two kinds of benzos I've had for their anti-anxiety properties. I have a big problem with anxiety in my daily life, I simply think too much and act as my own worst enemy.

Does anyone have more information on tolerance levels and how long it might take to build and leave?

Without abuse but regular prescribed use tolerance builds quite slowly. I've been on 1mg Clonazepam/day since January and 1mg still does me fine. I've gone through stages of abusing benzos but never longer than 1-2 months before stopping for a few months, and was once prescribed for 4 months a few years ago, again at 1mg/day clonazepam. Leaving however is a different story. It never seems to leave once you got it if you maintained high levels for long periods of time which I luckily never have.

I supplement my 1mg/day with 2-4mg Phenazepam 2-3 times a week though for the passed 3 months, so that needs to stop and is stopping seeing as I'm all out of Phenazepam...
 
Wow, 1mg clonazepam with 2-4 mg of phenazepam would have me blacked out and on the ground. Crazy how different human anatomies and chemistries can be.
 
I started taking Benzos for fun 15 years ago and now I HAVE to have them to get through my day. I literally suffer from panic attacks which I never had before my benzo use started. Please be careful.
 
I didn't do clonazepam in probably two years, but I remember it to be long lasting. I guess it would be something around 8 hours, but I might be wrong: I always took them after 5pm, so the sleep always came before the effects wore off completely.
I had a friend who was addicted to it, and he took it twice a day: before school (8-9am) and around 5pm.

btw, I find clons to be strange pills - I usually didn't feel like I'm "high" on them; but looking from time perspective I really was. It's not recreational in my view.
 
Considering that I only have to take clonazepam once a day to keep withdrawal away... logically it would seem like the half life is at least 18hrs+ otherwise I would have to take it more often I would think(I'm on the lowest dose that keeps w/d away and is comfortable, no matter if I split it up into 3 doses or 1, so I figure if thehalf life was any shorter I would be guaranteed to w/d before my next dose).
 
So guys, for a first time use, and considering I've been on xanax for about a week, how much clonazepam should i take to get the most recreational use out of it. I only have a limited supply, but they are 2mg tablets. And there's very little chance of getting any more.
So I guess im still chasing euphoria, which is probably wrong but I have a personal need for a bit of this. I also have a few xanax and Blue diazepams.
What would you guys recommend for maximum recreational gain from these items.

to really have fun on clonazepam and not just have it make your day brighter I needed around 4-6mg(before i ever touched benzos often), compared to 2mg of xanax(however the clonaze lasted much longer). Clonazepam is much less sedative and more relaxed stimulation and dis-inhibition(possibly causing the stimulation), so if you're looking for recreational use I'd consider doing something active on it for at least part.
 
2-3mg easy 24hrs noticeable effects.

Sorry meant to add for me, I have pretty low tolerance for benzos.
