WA Police have been left scratching their heads after dozens of cannabis plants were snatched from a crime scene while it was under guard.
About 100 plants went missing after police allegedly uncovered a grow house at a semi-rural property in Anketell on Thursday.
Later that night, two guards at the scene failed to catch thieves access the property and remove about 100 marijuana plants ? the theft going unnoticed until the Organised Crime Squad arrived the following morning.
A 61-year-old man and 41-year-old woman have been charged over cultivating the drug inside a house, a shed and in bushland.
The Internal Affairs Unit is investigating but the plants are yet to be recovered by police.\
