Hey guys. Can anyone give me some advise. I've been taking lorazapam now sometimes 2 in a week and sometimes up to 3 or 4 a week for about a 2 months now. Can this sort of taking get you addicted and do i need to taper off this sort of usage?

Benzodiazepine tolerance build fast, 2 to 4 in a week is not a big deal tho, but you certainly will need more in a few months if you continue like this. To avoid addiction I recommend taking a week off some time.

Here's how i've been taking them recently
april 24th 25th 27th 1 mg each day
may 4th 2mgs 6th 2mgs 20th 2mgs 30th 1mg
june 1st 2mgs 6th 1mg
do i need to taper of this sort of taking?

no you dont need to taper.. thats not enough use to worry about..

If you don't have a bad anxiety/sleep issue... I suggest you stop taking benzos before addiction sets in.

I do have terrible panic attacks and only take the lorazapam when I'm really bad. They really help me but of course i don't want to become addicted.

Lorazepam has a pretty short half life, and 1mg isn't a very high dose. If you were on an extended-release preparation of a benzo (Alprazolam ER) or a longer-acting benzo (Diazepam), then tolerance and tapering would be more of an issue. Hell, even Lorazepam can be damn addictive if you're taking it frequently enough, but in your case, I doubt it. I'd say you'd have to start taking 1mg at least twice a day for it to be an issue, and there are tons of people prescribed that / more per day for anxiety & panic disorders. Take care & be safe!

You will be fine mate , that's not enough for physical w/d like seizures or anything, if the lorazepam really helps you like someone already said just take it when you absolutely MUST, and stick to 1mg , that's proper use, not abuse, help this helped bro ;)

I'm going to close this as it has been answered, but I would like to add..
Please only take them on an "as needed" basis.
If you find these situations happening more often, then please talk to your doctor about it.
It is a very fine line when it comes to benzos and addiction/addictive behaviour.

NB. (Obviously trying to overcome these situations without meds is the objective of the meds - you know what I mean).

If you feel you are treading on thin ice, then start a new thread about how to halt this before it gets out of control.
If you are controlling your doses responsibly then be vigilant and good luck.
