Hi, I have a script for ativan and I have some phenibut. I am really nervous about building a physical dependence on either one of these. Sometimes I will take 1.5mg ativan two days in a row. Then I will take a day off, then take 2g of phenibut two days in a row. Then maybe 1.5mg ativan the next day. Do these work together to build the same kind of physical addiction? Or is the time taken phenibut counted as days off ativan and vise versa. I have only been doing this for maybe three weeks, so it hasn't been that long and there have been a couple days in a row of nothing. I was just wondering if these two work together to build the same kind of physical addiction. Thank you.

They are different classes of drugs, so no, they don't work together for a tolerance and/or addiction.

However, as they are both sedatives, you will eventually find it hard to do certain things since you're bouncing off the 2... trouble sleeping and i'd imagine, some minor pain?

Thanks for the info. Yeah, I am concerned about that and hopefully will wrap up use shortly.

I beleive there is some cross tolerance as they both work on gaba receptors just different ones(benzos on gaba a and phenibut on gaba b) but Im not totally sure how all that works as my chemistry knowledge is minimal.

I always thought this stuff would help benzo withdrawls? Kinda why I was gonna get some, I mean it does work on the Gaba receptors so it has to do something to help, but there is most likely a cross tolerance to these. And I the Phenibut has a half life of like 36 hours(could be wrong, look it up) and ativan is only like 8 hour or something..

The cross tolerance I am unsure, however, say you increase your dose of phenibut, you probably wouldn't have to increase your dose of ativan (at least right away, to achieve the same effects)... it's a hard thing to determine, really.

never heard of phenibute but benzo withdrawals are a nightmare. anytime i took ativan everyday or almost everyday for an extended period of time i would feel like complete shit. like i was sick with the flu. i would get muscle cramps, vomiting, insomnia, hard to eat, rebound anxiety which was worse than before taking the med. it was because i was taking it against my drs advice. luckily i was able to ween myself off and now just take as needed. works great for sleep on a temporary basis. if you're going to take it everyday, you need to make sure not to exceed the dose. if you want to go off you need to do it slowly and follow their advice. also make sure you get a good reputable dr. i take 1 mg if i cant sleep. or 2-4mgs for when im feeling stressed. i only take it once sometimes twice a week. makes me feel a lot more carefree. i get memory loss as well but believe me, there is plenty i'd like to forget.
