I'm doing some research on selective D2 agonists with a history of clinical use in man. Unfortunately, my university has few subscriptions to the medical literature. If someone with access could get me one or more of the articles below it would be greatly appreciated. I only need one from each set.

Set 1:
Eden RJ, Costall B, Bomeney AM et al. Preclinical pharmacology of ropinirole, a novel dopamine D2 agonist. Pharmacol Biochem Behav 1991;38:147-54

Adler CH, Sethi KD, Hauser RA et al. Ropinirole for the treatment of early Parkinsoni's disease. 1997;49:393-399.

Set 2:
Shannon KM, Bennett JP, Friedman JH et al. Efficacy of pramipexole, a novel dopaminc agonist, as monotherapy in mild to moderate Parkinsods disease. 1997;49:724-8.

Lieberman A; Ranhosky A, KorEs D. Clinical evaluation of pramipexole in advanced Parkinson's disease: Results of a doubleblind, placebo-controlled, parallel group study. 1997;49:162-8.

I'm also looking for a book on neuropharmacological methods. Specifically, something containing information on experimental design. I've found the following so far:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0878931759/qid=1133866091/sr=8-3/ref=pd_bbs_3/002-2540281-0999235?n=507846&s=books&v=glance
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0521646154/qid=1133866091/sr=8-4/ref=pd_bbs_4/002-2540281-0999235?n=507846&s=books&v=glance
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0195140087/qid=1133866434/sr=8-3/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i3_xgl14/002-2540281-0999235?n=507846&s=books&v=glance

None of these seem very specifically what I want, but I'm wondering if they at least have a section or two devoted to methods. Which other books would you recommend?

I've noticed that each discipline has its own rules for structuring experiments and analyzing results which are motivated by the history of the field. I need to write a proposal and have no formal background in pharmacology so I'd like to learn these rules in order to devise as rock solid a study possible since it's likely I'll only have one chance.

Thanks.

We are working in the field of dopamine antagonists and perform radio ligand binding studies and also a functional calcium assay (to determine whether the compound is an agonist or an antagonist). This assay also yields in Ki values of the compound. A reference for this assay is:

Kassack, M. U.; Höfgen, B.; Lehmann, J.; Eckstein, N.; Quillan, J. M.; Sadee, W. Functional Screening of G Protein-Coupled Receptors by Measuring Intracellular Calcium with a Fluorescence Microplate Reader. J. Biomol. Screening 2002, 8, 233-246.
Maybe it helps.

I'm also looking for a book on neuropharmacological methods
That would be one big mother fucking book, having all the methods from molecular biology, to electrophysiology, MRI and clinical trials....

Still, there are some interesting things at the society for neuropsycholopharmacology

Great books.

Meanwhile, NEVER post references like that again. References have the Journal titles in them. You hear?

But those articles are attatched.. as DOCs... sorry, best I could do.
