Harm Reduction artery vs. veins

I'm about to shoot a speedball but I'm out of veins. I have some big ones in my ankles but how do I know if it's an artery vs. a vein???
 
Um from what I gather, if you shoot into arteries (asides from the massive bleeding et al), the blood flow won't be travelling to your heart, it's travelling to your extremities, meaning that your speedball may end up somewhere about your fingertips, leaving you neither high nor happy about what just happened.

I'm not an expert on IV administration, but arteries are bad news...
 
Sweet jesus do not shoot into a artery! It could very well kill you. Besides the massive bleeding it will send the speedball all around your body and your likely to end up dead. Not to mention it can cause a stroke.
 
tracy007 this is the AT LEAST 5th thread you have made this week having to do with your lack of good vains.

If you would have found this site earlier in your drug career im sure you would still have some vains left.

and you dont seem to understand what many people have told you. you only have a few options.
1) stop using drugs
2) Use a different ROA ( plugging is 2ed only to IV )
3) start shooting in your feet/groin/neck or any other extremely dangerous site.

Really good post! Although i really wouldn't wanna encourage 3)... Pls OP, take this as a sign that something has to change
 
Artery=thin bright orangeish blood, hurts like fucking hell if you push down on the plunger. Vein=nice thick dark blood, feels totally smooth when injecting the liquid in, no burn. Check the mega thread like toothpaste suggested, it has a lot in info in there but really..telling an artery from a vein is really something you should have learned early in your IV career..That's like dope fiend 101..okay maybe not 101, but at least a 201, sophomore year course...

Agreed.. it's like you are looking for some mysterious answer here asking the same question expecting different results.

You can't shoot into an artery.. even i you inject a few units it will burn like crazy and your arm will swell up and turn red, and that's if your lucky and you dont end up shooting a lot and loosing an arm or hand. An artery sometimes will have enough pressure that it would actually push your plunger back.. I have knicked an artery once and soon as I pushed even a unit it burned like a bitch.. luckily swelling went down quick and stuff.

Veins are your only option, if you are out of veins, that means you can either IM, or use an different ROA. There is no secret vein we are going to tell you about.. if the vein exists it will be on a diagram. Personally I would avoid the femeral vein vecause it rests on femeral artery. And I would avoid neck veins because if you miss you could abstruct air flow and blood flow to the head.

You need to take a break, simple as that. Or you need to get a 1 or 1 1/2" syringe and IM correctly, into a muscle, not just under the skin. Unless you are very skinny a 1/2" pin won't be long enough. You really should not be IMing street drugs.. that being said I know someone who regularly IM's heroin from around here (its super clean dope though) and they have not developed any abcsess, I am pretty usre coke is much worse to IM though.
