Are fake reports common?

It would seem pretty easy for a supplier to make fake accounts and give high ratings for bunk pills.

Not sure they would even need to go to that trouble though.

I'm very new to all this so I was just wondering if that has happened before or has been suspected...
 
Yes it has happened before. You can spot them usually by the fact that the report it's self is crap, ie. "Yo these pills are bomb! I took one and rolled for six hours straight!" And that is all the report contains. Or maybe you will see a detailed report, but every comment after the report contradicts what the OP had said. On the other side of things I've even come across reports that seem to have been placed by someone who is pissed at there dealer and is just trying to cut sells down for someone selling a particular press. By this I mean I have found people who swear a pill is crap, you will die if you take it and blah blah blah. Then I come across the pill myself, test it, and it comes back clean. Then I eat it, and I roll decent. Then you have your inexperienced NOOB coming on and posting shit saying that they rolled balls off of a couple of piperazine pills. The Noob doesn't know any better, they think they are rolling because they are to new to know the difference between the two highs. I used to be one of those NOOBs. They just don't know any better.

So ya I believe people post fake reports. I believe people unknowingly post false reports. I believe some people post false reports trying to hinder a certain person's sells because they have beef with the person selling a particular press. I also believe that there are some very legit reports on the site too. Just pay attention and you should be able to tell the difference. Read the reports in your area, and after awhile you will see who's reports get respect in your area. Those are the ones to gain your information from.

Fake reports do happen but thankfully we have a lot of people using the site who know what they are talking about so they are quickly highlighted. Just read a few of the comments and if somebody is saying best roll ever and theres 20 comments saying bunk roll be careful. If any of the mods suspect something is wrong we would change the report and also leave a mod message - so keep an eye out for mod edits to reports etc.

Thanks. I'm starting to see some common reviewers; I guess it will just take sometime to learn who is trustworthy!

It would be cool to have some kind of validation for reviewers.
 
funny avcpl I was thinking along the same lines but I would hate to offend anyone by not including them on the safe list :D.
 
Everyone has the option to search agains the username and see the other reports they have made - its safer to use the site for identification purposes and then buy and use a test kit before taking any pill.
 
cool; didn't know usernames could be searched!

I have a test kit; just nothing to test. It surprises me how many reviews there are that do not include testing data.

I would test some of these for people for free just to get the practice...
 
Not sure who saw the report yesterday on the White Mitzi (USA section) great photo had a reported High MDMA content but the poster mucked up the test results that they gave and this was quickly picked up by several people. I added a warning to the report and asked the poster to clarify - they deleted the post! Can only be somebody with fake Mitzi pills trying to build up a name for them or somebody messing about - so If you see super white, really clean Mitzi pill .....

Like bearlove said, hang around the site for a while, you'll get a feeling for who knows what and who you can trust. I can't see us putting a rating system for users into place, because it would only be abused like hell. :( Look for stars on the report, that's another way you can weed out the good from the bad.
 
I didn't really mean that the users rate the reviewers---I agree that would be completely abused. I mean some kind of validation.

For example it one of the moderators made review and included test results, I think it would be something I and others would greatly appreciate and trust, but would still welcome feedback on the review.

And maybe there are members that the mods know personally and can be "moderator validated".

Just throwing out ideas!
 
Hahaha, well, if you go and find my last report I made quite some time ago, I was ripped to shreds and told I tested/took a pill wth draino and other stuff in it. So, I can't see that happening, either.

I personally do not know any other PR'ers in "real life", and I think we should keep our personal details to a minimum. Face it, LEO's DO read this site (and PR as well).

After you hang around the site for a a while, you'll get a feel for who knows their stuff and who's just blabbering useless dribble. ;)

But I also have to add that, although MOST people trying to push their bunk shit only write a couple lines in their reports about how bomb it is (yea right!), I believe there are some that actually take the time out of their useless lives to write a detailed report, so it actually seems legit. Now, I'm naturally a very suspicious person when it comes to pillreports, and if I look at their username and they always have "Mdxx high" reports, I become skeptical. However, I know that in itself should not dismiss them. But there were some users that would say they were super clean...but other friends have told me they had some speed in it, for example. So my guess is either they can't distinguish between clean and speedy, or they're lying.

I also would be skeptical if they never had pictures of their reagant tests once in a while, because obviously its very easy to use the drop down menu.
 
Yeah AireePotter – I agree with you, some really detailed reports sound like they are talking about a great pill. Then the comments start from regular users, testers, reporters and the report slowly loses all credibility.

Not everyone is out to deceive though – some people make reports thinking they have taken MD.. when they have taken a pipe instead. If they haven’t had anything to compare it against (sadly the case with some people) they wouldn’t know, they would think that the feelings they are experiencing is what everyone has been talking about.

Its not until they have experienced true Ecstasy that they realise how different the two experiences are.
 
^haha - Hey this could be the name of a new thread - Suspected fake / Dealer reports?

Heres a great example - (There has been a few different reports on this type of pill, most have said pipes - 3 have said MD..) (Im not saying this is a fake report just highlighting what happens when everyone suspects a fake report in the UK section)

Anyhoo, how about some kind of "I trust this person" and "I think they're full of crap" options? Then you'd get "This person is trusted by 10 people you trust" or conversely "7 people you trust doubt this person"? That kinda thing. I could actually do the coding (web geek) and I think it'd be a good half-way system; I don't like that "kudos" thing on some boards... 'cos you just get mates "greening" each other over and over.

Yeah that sounds like a good idea, We really need some coding help on Pill Reports Ill mention it to Ravenousblonde (that would be a great help).

Yea, please DEFINITELY coding...youre talking about how like one person can make multiple accounts? especially on one computer...but it would be perfect if they knew they WERENt being coded...
