Repairs Needed at Hixon House After Crash

Still no estimate on the dollar amount for damage at the Hixon House in La Crosse. The historic house was banged up early sunday morning by a guy apparently driving drunk. Cops say 22 year-old Matthew Dickinson was driving downtown with a blood alcohol level more than three times the legal limit at about bar time when he missed a turn, plowed through the iron gate at the house and then hit the porch. Police say they also found a bag of opium in Dickinson's car.

Ive seen opium once in my life. It was a tar-like substance. I didn't know it was RARE.
 
or you saw black tar; crappy tar is sometimes sold as opium (it happened to me once, and I've heard from others who've had this happen).

if you didn't realize opium was rare in the US, you don't know much about it.

I dont, and never claimed too. It wasn't my
"opium", and it wasn't black in color. It was more of a dark purple sap like substance. The person claimed it was opium, but I have no idea. He payed a good amount for it, too. Sucks that he got ripped off maybe...lol
 
^yea thats what im thinking. i would believe it if i saw a lab report...it was probably that fake dhoop stuff that idiot college kids buy.

Yeah, I emailed the assistant police cheif so hopefully I'll get a response.

I posit that either he grew his own, had tar that he wanted to pass off as opium for a lesser sentence or bought it from the local hmong population- the only other time I've seen reports of opium in WI were hmong men having opium mailed to them from thailand. Usually in multiples of ounces- still, I doubt they sell their personal supply.

Other, strong, possibility is that it's not any active at all.

They're easy to grow, problem is you have to grow a large quantity of them to get any worthwhile supply out of it. Those who do usually do it for personal use, not distribution.
 
& the folks with large enough quantities to get a good supply much rather make & import heroin for a much larger profit. Ironic this thread gets posted now, about a week back i happened across a friend who claimed to have a .4 of opium he was gifted at a show, i didnt really believe it. Does black stringyness mean anything about quality or is that bs? At first i assumed dragons blood or black tar but it doubt it was either. Merh
 
The only place I've ever found opium was at large music festivals, those few times it was pretty decent quality (though I have nothing to compare to - but it did the job). I looked into growing poppies (opium smells fantastic), but as mentioned previously it's pretty labor-intensive.
 
Im pretty sure unless it has been refined, there will be pieces of organic plant matter in the product. Most of the dhoop incense has that stringy quality when its warm. i think ive smoked the real deal once, it was more brown looking and didnt have a strong smell. You can pretty much tell if its fake by the taste. The fake stuff will have an overpoweringly strong floral smell.
 
if you think opium is hard to find then you haven't gone to a
major music festival.
 
A few years ago i get a call from this douchebag i used to chill with, askin me if i wanted any white rock opium> it was some serious lulz.I met up with him to look at it, and it was like pieces of what looked like dragons blood, but nowhere near as dark red, it was just kind of pink with white in it. i took a hit and it didnt do shit, i just wanted to prove its fake. stupid kids.
 
I know nothing of the opiate world so please excuse my lack of knowledge but when you say "tar" what is it you are refering to? I ask this because i had what i thought to be opium the other day and was very dissapointed. A friend of mine who smoked it with me said it hit him well hard but just felt like he'd taken loads of diazepam..

Edit- We didn't pay for it so we didn't lose out either way ;)
