Is it possible to fly, like levitating without any help of someone or something?
In the movie the matrix neo can fly in the matrix bc he is a computer program. In the movie star wars yoda is able to levitate bc he is able to manipulate the force.
how would a human be able to levitate in real life?

I've highlighted the key words in your post. Hope it helps.

I've heard of talking snakes and spontaneous human combustion, too. That alone doesn't make these things true.

If there are people who can levitate through meditation, they might like to know that demonstrating this power will lead to them winning $1,000,000 from the James Randi Educational Foundation.

I know what you mean, but you can't really qualify Neo as flying. There are already games where our characters can do that and in due future a program just like in the Matrix might exist for all of us to use. Would that mean we are flying? When we take psychs and imagine all kinds of things are they real? Just pointing out the inconsistencies in your comparison.

Haven't Buddhist monks claimed they can levitate? I remember reading something like that somewhere. I am sure it wasn't documented by science.

in space you can

Isn't that where we exist now? Just not in a vacuum? In our space we don't levitate due to gravity.

UA'd a couple of posts. If you have nothing constructive to say, then please don't say anything at all.

Buddhists levitating is subjective. They meditate. They claim that through meditation, you reach enlightenment, and enlightenment allows you to live in a higher state of being, so to speak, thus levatating you to another level of existense.

At least that's how I understand it. And I do meditate to find peace of mind on occassion, and I can see how it might feel as if you are levitating, after clearing your mind of all scattered thought, going with the flow, and sitting in the same position for a long time, comfortable and at ease. You do feel as if there are a lot of weights lifted off your shoulder, and you feel higher.

So it's not like physical levitation due to lack of gravity in space, but more a spiritual, psychological levitation, allowing you to feel more free of burdens and rising to a higher and more interactive state of being, at one with your surroundings and environment, riding the wave of time and existence with confidence and no fear.

we'd have to find a way to control energy present within ourselves or our surrounding to counteract the effects of gravity

do we potentially have this capacity?
so far it doesn't look so
but never say never
a few thousand years ago, it didn't seem like we were going to talk of chat on internet forums either

You cant do anything without the help of something, whether that something comes from your experiences or the present does not matter.
We as persons do not exist in vacuums, rather we are made of interactions and processes with the world and others.
