Stimulants Anyone unable to function after amp threapy?

Has anyone whos been treated with nacolepsy/ADHD meds for sometime unable to function without the meds? or is it a return of the illness? 8)
 
How long have you been off the meds for? It's normal when you first go off medication to feel less functional for a while... it took me a while off opioids to start to feel like I could function in society properly again.
 
I'v been diagnosed with narcolepsy and a rebound ADD state. been on meds for 30 years. I sleep a lot when off, and can't function
 
I found Desoxyn SR tabs the most effective. I was like a normal person. Abbott stopped making them 10 years ago. Dexedrine spansules are second best and have taken them since with less effective results. I'm seeing a new Doc who is treating me with 20mgs Desoxyn 5mg IR tabs 4x a day, they are slightly better than Dex spans, thou not as effective as the SR tabs
 
For me, I find that irregular use of amphetamine (like once or twice a week max) is better than 5-6 times or more per week.

I sometimes feel tired or unhappy after a while of using the medication but a day or two off of it and I'm normally back to my normal self.
 
Ritalin is the only med I've been prescribed that keeps me from feeling at the same time sleepy, nervous and having insomnia. I still haven't managed a working schedule with MPH breaks.
