Does anyone here consistantly take an antipsychotic? I was wondering what kind of effect something like acid or shrooms have if you're on one. Do you still get visual hallucinations, or is the effect diminished because of the medication? I'm not asking for personal reasons, just curious about it.

Antipsychotics should completely block the effects of lsd and shrooms. And anyways, if said person is um psychotic, they should stay away from these drugs.

Yeah, I would expect people with the sort of problems that require anti-psychotic medication are the LAST people who ought to be taking powerful psychedelics like LSD and mushrooms. And indeed, the medication would block most, if not all, of the effects.

Not all anti-psychotics will completely negate the effects a trip, especially not the visuals.
I'm assuming you're thinking about using one in the event of a bad trip?
I'm also assuming you've got a particular A/P in mind...which one...

No, actually, I have no intentions of taking one, and I doubt if a one-time dose would help prevent a bad trip anyhow. I agree that people on psychotropics are BAD candidates to be using recreational drugs. It was just something that occurred to me so I thought I'd ask here.

What are antiphyschotic drugs? I thought valium and all benzos were antiphyschotic, benzos don't stop a trip they can smooth out a bad trip though.

Benzos are minor tranquilizers. Anti-psychotics are much more serious, and not at all recreational. Thorazine is a well known one, and I've heard it referred to as a "soul-aborter." That's about how heavy they are :P
Lots of nasty side effects too.
