i really dont want to have to use again to get on subs but i went to a doctors office today to try and get prescribed suboxone and was honest with the secretary and told her i had been taking subs for over a week and she sent me home and told me she would talk to the doctor and give me a call tomorrow... i didnt think it was that big of a deal but does anyone know or think the doctor will accept me?

i have been taking subs for about 8 months buying them off the street im not trying to taper off i want to be on suboxone as a maintenance because being completely clean just dont work for me

I don't really know but I would think yes prolly if 1) the doc is cool and understands (these are few and far between but do exist) more likely 2) they want your money! Sub maintenance is not cheap. If that doc will not do it, keep searching till you find one that will. I guess you could wait for WD and then go get high, but that is f*cking stupid considering. If that is the case what does that say about how well the medical profession treats those in need if they are addicted. Good luck :-)

yes believe me i thinks very stupid because i told the secretary if its that big of a deal i could leave and come back with something in my system but i really dont want to do that... she pretty much said i would prob have to do that.. trust me i have been searching for sub docs the last 4 days and everyone i call says the are not taking new patients or the doctors i call are no longer doctors there (i wonder why lmao) all these docs are in Massachusetts are crooked and charge 300 and will not take any kind of insurance ... i read online that there are over 900 suboxone docs in MA but only 350 come up on the internet .. one doctor just got busted for seeing over 700 people for suboxone when the limit is 100.. if he was still a doc im sure h would see me ...im about to give up and hit the methadone clinic even tho i really dont want too

I told you that I had in your last thread. And if he said you need to be opioid positive, you know what he'll say.
Find another doc or play by his rules. Sucks, but not much else to do.
What are you trying to ask exactly?

my old post got closed because it had the word "test" in it ...what im asking is if anyone has gone to a sub doc without opiates in there system and just subs already in there system... im sure it happens alot seeing how when most addicts decide to get clean is when they go broke... im also on drug testing for my p.o and cant even really use for a day and then go back.. maybe they could test my levels of suboxone idk i figured someone on bluelight would have some info on this situation

Yikes! I hate methadone....greater of the two evils kinda shit, for me anyways. Switching seems like a crappy solution to an even crappier prob since you've been on the subs for a while now. Will they Rx subs if you have methadone in ur system? I don't know, maybe? I think they should. I know ppl who have switched from dones to subs no prob. I'm in GA and it was wicked easy to find a doc here. I had to have a court ordered assessment and I got a list as long as my arm from that dude. He didn't care and neither do the doc's down here. I know that wont help you but maybe you could look out of town if your mobile. God, it really burns me how these doc's treat us.

The first time I was placed on bupe, I had no opiates in my system and the second time I was on bupe, I was never given a pre drug screening like I was on MMT. I think it just matters on MMT whether or not you can prove you are an addict by pissing dirty for opiates.

UAs are upto the dr. there's no requirement, but some will test anyway to cover their ass to prevent clean people getting them for diversion or a PWD. Keep looking, you'll find one eventually.

I do know that I wasn't accepted into an inpatient program for a few days while I tried to detox on my own, but the day I went and picked up they accepted me in that night... Seems fucked up to make us pick up just to get better, but that's definitely how some places play ball.

i realize it just covers the doctors ass but i find it just stupid that someone could pop a percocet 5mg and go get a sub script but someone being honest and saying they have been taking subs trying to do the right thing gets treated like this.. when the lady there said i dont know if he will see you because the subs you were taking wernt prescribed to the suboxone ..i felt like saying i wasnt prescribed to oxycodone or heroin either but i kept my mouth shut... i may be over thinking this one and may get a call saying it is fine... but i didnt even bother to tell her they gave me adivan in the ER a few days ago.. i can imagine that will be an issue also

I can't imagine why not, especially that you were using it illicitly. Good God, this Suboxone stuff is getting out of control. It's a cash cow for doctors if you can find one, there's so much diversion, and street junkie folklore leading to unsafe use.

There's no way you can use just to see a sub doctor. But each doctor has their own "criteria for usage." The doctor's concern of course is diversion. But for you, the consequences (violating your probation) are too great, and plus you want to quit and not be arrested for possession of a controlled substance (i.e., buying sub off the street) which is inevitable. Try to bypass the receptionist if you can, and tell the doctor your story. Are you in Boston? You may have to go to a big city to find a doctor. I traveled 200 miles to see mine, but he's also my psychiatrist (did an addiction psychiatry fellowship at Columbia) which is an extremely difficult combination to find.

When I got on bupe the last time around I was three days off heroin, I wanted it to deal with cravings. It really depends on the doctor I think. I knew one guy that HAD to go out and use because he was desperate for suboxone but the doc wouldn't give it to him without a positive

Extremely common, unfortunately.

im pretty sure they wont take you because you tell them you've been buying it off the street for months.. ive been on suboxone for 2 plus yrs.. really long story short which will make you not be able to understand it all but i have alot of health problems and ive used pills alot but i got clean for a year and somethin, well during that year no quality of life like im practically dying slowly so i wanted to do methadone cuz my vertabraes are leaking i have a really bad back but there isnt any methadone clinic in my town or close.. So i decided to go with the suboxone i tried to explain my problem but all they wanted to know is if i had opiates in my system.. They dont give a fuck about nothing but writing you the sub script but what was i gonna do.. Barely even live or try this, word of advice tho you should not stay on suboxone long at all its best used to just keep withdrawl away and then quit taking it.. I hate the shit and the doctors have no idea what they are doin with it.. good luck tho

I was prescribed Suboxone yesterday. I didn't have any in my system but had tract marks on my arm. So I guess I could still prove it in a way. He gave me 8mg twice a day. Talk about a high dose ? I only have taken one yesterday and one today and plan on keeping it down to one a day or two halves a day.

i completely understand.. im in the same bout as you ive been very sick for the past 4 year.. im always sore and fatigued and i believe what made me fall in love with opiates because they gave me energy... i have alot of muscle waste and alot of symptoms that point to ms ... i just got my insurance recently so now ill be able to figure out what is gong on with me .. i know people that have been taking subs for over a year and get high of them dont ask me how but they do..when i take subs they dont do much to me but def give me a little boost to get threw the day.. i have 2 different methadone clinics a mile and a half away from me but i think to myself do i really want to have to get up ever morning and take a bus there and back everyday

shit ill bring in my criminal record that should be enough proof of being a junkie

So that IS a real movie. Looks interesting. Anyways, I honestly think its best to just tell your Suboxone doctor the truth. Don't attempt to make up an elaborate lie that you could get caught in. I doubt he/she will make a huge deal of it. Besides, what is "worse"..buying heroin off the street, or Suboxone? The answer to that is purely opinion.
