anyone ever have their joint turn into a pipe?

it just happened to me. the paper went out but the weed inside kept burning. it seemed to work like a pipe without a carb.
anyone else ever have this happened the them?
 
That sounds rather odd.

I've heard of what's called Canoeing happening to the blunt or joint where just the top part burns and the bottom part does not but never this.

What did you roll with?
 
i used a zig zag. it wasn't too much saliva as it had been sitting out so it was probably completely dry. it may have been too much paper though as it was quite a thing joint. seemed to work well though as it made the weed last longer

too much paper/too loose of a blunt. the weed'll start to burn only the first layer of the roll (or no layer at all) and it'll smoke but the outer paper'll stay in near-perfect condition.
 
yes... its called someone who rolls poorly. i find it remarkably unlikely that the whole joint could possibly burn like that unless the paper was soaking wet though. usually it burns down the middle for maybe up to a centimeter (half an inch) then the ember burns a hole in the side of the joint and that bit of paper burning opens up one side of the joint so it canoes. then you have to fix it.

off-topic, but i've always hated it when people call a run a "canoe." :X
 
If the joint was rather large it's possible that the paper towards the end of the joint became so caked in resin that it was fire retardant. When I roll pin joints with super sticky weed they sometimes get so resiny they go out 2/3s of the way through it.
 
yeah this used to happen to me too!!! back when i first started smoking and was slobbering the joints and blunts of course.8o

also i didnt start rolling really big joints til i was pretty good at rolling and everyone just makes me roll shit like that now so ive never seen a joint do that. sounds pretty horrible tho.
 
well i can roll joints fine it was just the small amount of weed in the joint that lead to the amount of paper and it was no where near the whole joint. just a little bit more than the roach. again there was a rather small amount of weed in the joint especially towards the end. either way it burned slower that way so imo it was an improvement.

No one I have ever encounter in all my days of weed smoking has ever referred to a "run" and a "canoe"

wow, i put the sarcastic face and you still didnt get it. no wonder youre the kind of person who thinks "my lingo is better than your lingo". its just jargon mate. get over yourself.
 
This happens if the joint isnt rolled tight enuff. Basically the cherry is smaller than the width of your joint. Best way to stop it is by tapping the endf of your joint on a hard surface or using a cigarette butt to gently push the weed down towards the roach before you smoke it.

This used to happen to me all the time when I first started rolling
