I got the shot 3 months ago and im still waiting for it to get out of my blood stream. Has anyone had experience.fully coming off this.horrible med? I just want my mind to return to it prior taking the med. I hope my psychedelic experiences wont fade. I used to feel in touch and have intuition. Does anyome have experience coming back to life so.to speak.coming off of anti psychotics? Thanks

How much medication was given to you? What type of side effects are you currently experiencing?

234mg shot. Side effects include: not feelimg spirituallu connected, dull, swollen nipples, jaw droops, weighr.gain, no interwst in anything, digestive problems.

Did you only get the shot once? Were you taking antipsychotics before you got the Invega Sustenna injection? Have the symptoms that you attribute to being side effects of the Invega Sustenna started to improve at all?

The half-life for Invega Sustenna is listed as 25-50 days, so that means it could take a very long time for it to all be out of your system. If one considers 5 half-lives as the effective elimination time (97% gone), then that would be 125-250 days or 4-8 months. But your levels should have substantially dropped by now at least.

I have never used Paliperidone myself and I know you are looking for first-hand experience, but I figured this type of info might still be useful to you.

What does your doctor have to say about it? If you were happy with your mind before you got the I.S. shot, why did you get it (if you're comfortable talking about it)?

I got the shot once. I took risperidal before the invega. They said i was schizophrenic but i got a second diagnosis and was mis diagnosed. I feel a little better. It just feels like this feeling will nevet go away.

Paliperidone is just the active metabolite of risperidone so the withdrawal symptoms will be the same. I have been on risperdal and seroquel before sometimes for up to a year or more straight and one thing i will tell you is that if you have been on anti-psychotics a long time going off them cold turkey is not a good idea, Along with the original symptoms returning with a vengeance withdrawal from these drugs can also cause insomnia, headaches, nausea, vomiting, a feeling of being "out of it" among others. So i would recommend talking to your doctor before discontinuing the drug.

My doctor approved mw going off this med. I just hope to see my old self again.

Closing this thread because you started a very similar (almost identical) one here

PM me with any questions :)
