Been a while since i've posted over here... but here's the background:
I've been "clean" from heroin for over 4 years; and have been on ~4mg of suboxone since Dec 22, 2006. But the thing is.. I have chronic back pain.

I've been on ~30 pills a day of carisoprodol for back pain, for roughly the last 3-4 years. Partially prescribed, the rest I guess you could say i'm "doctor shopping" via online / telemedicine (all based in US, i speak w/ the doctor over the phone, etc etc).. b/c my tolerance greatly increased.

Due to my job situation & income.. looks like i'm no longer going to be able to afford it anymore. I was put on fioricet for roughly 2 months, (butalbital, an intermediate acting barbiturate). It worked great! No high, cheaper! But i had to transition back to carisoprodol roughly 5 days ago. I am down to 18-20 pills a day. I have minor anxiety as it is, but this shit makes me unable to function. Its on par w/ heroin withdrawal, or methadone withdrawal--but w/ worse anxiety.. and this is only when i try to push myself & don't take any soma for 12-14 hours! I've been trying to slowly wean myself- but its sort of too little, too late. As of now I have 70 pills left from my script... and another 100 to pick up on monday. After that, i could probably only afford another script or two... MAYBE. worst case scenario.. after i'm out of this Rx, i'm OUT.

Can't tell my suboxone doctor, or at least i'd prefer not to b/c i'm afraid he'll kick me off.

Anyone have any experience? Hard to come by anything substantial online.. or on BL.. all i found were case studies of carisoprodol withdrawal, instigating delirium tremens & seizures (like benzo / barb / alcohol withdrawal).. and this shit scared the hell outta me!!

please! any advice, any experiences are welcome.. any herbal remedies? any other non Rx medications? Any recommendations on what i should say to my suboxone doctor? B/c he's always been VERY hesitant to prescribe benzos... which i know would help.

otherwise, i have no insurance. i've been to the ER so many times for withdrawal in the past before i kicked dope.. i know they'll turn me away.. any recommendations on what to say?? i'd rather not wait till i'm delusional! And the worst part is, i'm back home living w/ a parent & if i tell her, she will probably kick me out.

uggh, please. any help.. any at all.

UPDATE:
I ended up cashing in some of my stock in Pepsi.. & now have ~$2500 to last me for living expenses, prescriptions, etc... so looks like i'll be okay for a bit, hopefully can find a job.

I have transitioned myself to butalbital, roughly 1250 mg - 1500 mg daily (fioricet formula). I know its probably not the "healthiest" long term b/c of the APAP contained in it, & seeing as though i'm taking roughly ~20-25 pills daily. But b/c of the longer duration of action; I am less obsessive than I was on soma; more energy (probably b/c of the caffeine in the fioricet)--and i am overall more "balanced."

So i'm trying to taper.. problem is, it works for a bit, then i go right back to 1250mg+ ... i tend to wait until i'm completely broke to try & fix things. So we'll how everything goes.. guess just need some stronger will power! I've been through this shit before w/ heroin, but anxiolytic withdrawal is fucking hell and a complete mind fuck. I'd say worse than heroin withdrawal, just w/ less obsessions over obtaining the drug (i.e.- dreams about heroin).

So same questions apply- any recommendations? Similar experiences? Herbal remedies? I'm afraid of barbiturate withdrawal (especially the duration, since butalbital is longer acting), but its better for tapering. And its better than carisoprodol withdrawal, which causes similar symptoms to meprobamate detoxification--almost synonymous w/ short acting barbiturates (almost like methadone vs. heroin detox, pick your poison.. quick & harsh or long & moderate).
