Opioids anxiety/panic attacks on opies need advice

Ok so iv been having a problem with anxiety an sometimes full blown panic attacks after taking a normal dose of opiates for me. Took 45mg of morphine ER and .25mg of xanax about 3 hours ago.

I would like to take more xanax for this. But this is obviously not the best idea. So I just wanted know what everyone thinks about another .25mg of xanax or maybe 25mg of hydroxyzine wich also has anxiolytic effects but is also a CNS depressent (I think).

45mg of morphine is not even that high of a dose for me. Im not nodding or sleepy at all. I usually take about 50-60mg of hydro for a good buzz lately. My tolerance to opiates used to be sort of high as I used to take lots of oxy(60-80mg) an methadone(50-60mg) in one dose for a long time, but has gone down a bit as of lately from tappering an little breaks. I just recently started taking the xanax so my tolerance is kinda low still.

Iv been abusing all kinds of opies for about 10 years an just started getting anxiety/panic attacks that seem to get worse when I take enough opies for me to not be sick. Obviously I should stop taking opies, but I hate being so sick I can't get out of bed. So just wondering if anyone can give some advise on my issue here. I'm just super sketched about mixing the opies and benzo's as so many OD's are from this combo. Is my anxiety/paranoia getting the best of me an I'm just trippin or is this super dangerous at these amounts with my tolerance. Any help is really appreciated.
 
Do you think the anxiety could possibly be related to your benzo use? I mean, it's not impossible that the opiates could cause it, but still since benzos are meant for anxiety they can also produce more side effects in that area.

0.25 mg really would not be dangerous, but i'd still say to watch out with your usage of them, if you say you've been having trouble with opiates then you definitely shouldn't add another powerful substance to the mix.
 
I just started taking the xanax for anxiety about a week ago and only take em when I really need em. Never really took Benzo's that often until this anxiety shit started happening. They seem to help but .5mg of xanax works better than .25 lol obviously. Yeah I'm trying to be careful with my doses for obvious reasons. It definitely has something to do with the opiates. It's really weird how this just started happening. One thing I noticed is smoking cig's makes it even worse but that makes sense though.
 
I don't know how common this is with opioids, but drugs bringing forth some anxiety which leads to panic attacks is actually not that unheard of. For me, personally, I got a great deal of anxiety for a few months after abusing ethylphenidate a little too much one night. Now, half a year or more later I can't take any sort of stimulant drug at all without getting anxiety. I used to have no problem with them. My advice would be to stay away from the drugs that give you this anxiety and see if you experience any new anxiety when you're off these drugs. If you experience no new anxiety while abstaining from them you could try to start taking them again in low doses and work your way up if you want. If you do experience anxiety or panic attacks while abstaining you should first sort that out. Personally I can recommend eating healthy and exercise, as well as facing the anxiety head on when you experience it. The worst way to deal with anxiety is to avoid the situations that bring out the anxiety (with drugs being the exception).
 
Thanks t0aster. Yeah i noticed I experience way less anxiety when I don't take any opiates for sure. I'm jus gonna keep my doses low for a while I guess. It makes sense that stims cause anxiety. opiates causing anxiety is odd but yeah not unheard of. It's just weird how it just came out of nowhere for what seems like no reason. Good advice though thanks bro.
 
you mentioned hydroxyzine , i have that for anxiety, my dr gave that to me instead of a benzo because he knows im an addict and he said I couldnt get high off of it or od. Needless to say I tried anyway, I popped 200mg and..........nothing. could be wrong but i dont think its a cns depressant. ive drank on it and popped percs on it and saw no adverse effects.

Yeah I got the hyroxyzine the same way you did. Yeah you can't get high on it but it kinds helps anxiety though. It's suppose potentiate morphine a bit but its hard to tell if it did for me. Mostly jus adds to the nod and sedation not euphoria. I believe it is a CNS depressant but a very weak one that doesn't cause a lot respiratory depression. So its a lot safer to mix with morphine. It's not a good potentiator of pro-drugs though as it inhibits a certain enzym to convert it. But yeah thanks for the reply.
 
But is 45mg of morphine really that high of a dose with a moderate tolerance. I'm mean I didn't even feel it that much. I see what your saying but I wasn't that high. Im thinking I might have some other underlying condition that's causing all of this. IDK I'm at a loss here.
