Today, after about a year of being unmedicated, I finally got in to a new psychiatrist (my old psych no longer practices) for help with my anxiety/panic and depression issues. Although I've been on just about every SSRI in the book (more than enough to know they aren't for me), the doctor seems hell bent on pushing this new SSRI called Viibryd, supposedly with less chance for sexual side effects and such. I told him I was reluctant to go back on an SSRI--I don't like the idea of waiting a month and a half to verify that the newest bullshit medication the doc tries to throw at me is indeed just that.
He mentioned benzodiazepines and expressed a reluctance to prescribe those for my panic attacks because of their dependence and abuse liability, blah blah blah. Even though I've now tried a shitload of SSRIs (Zoloft, Celexa, Paxil, and Prozac), Wellbutrin, BuSpar, and Neurontin to little benefit now. Some helped periodically but not much at all. He said I can always tell him if the medication doesn't work and change it then but i don't want to wait until I'm impotent to get what I need.
Anyway does anyone have experience with Viibryd (vilazodone)?
