what are your experiences- what worked well?

did promethazine eliminate the nausea?

i always get very intense nausea from aMT and am looking for a way to get around this as i want to introduce a friend to it on new years eve but am not sure what we will be doing and a three hour vomit fest might prove inconvenient:\

any advice or experiences please:)

Is ondansetron not the way to go, being a 5-HT(3) antagonist?

Mind you I have never used this myself whatsoever and cannot recommend it out of personal experience or from anecdotal evidence but theory seems to support it.

I never had nausea with aMT but have only taken small dose.

With 2C-E I think I tried domperidon and ginger and it didn't work. I don't think domperidon would work with any of these compounds because of the way it acts. Ginger and papaya extracts might work by easing the stomach in general...
but if it's serotonin release or agonism in the GI tract that causes your nausea then I think the only true solution is to counter it at the source.

Actual info on ondansetron would be welcome, as well as other 5-HT(3) antagonists.

My med is plugging :) No sign of any nausea.

me and a friend did that last time and both of us were puking- i think some people are just more susceptible. three other people who had half the doses (orally in water) were fine, but both me and this friend eat a lot of cheese so maybe that was adding to the problem, also all the others had alcohol before they came up whereas we had none:\

every time i have done amt in every ROA i always end up getting bad nausea for three hours

5ht3 antagonists sound promising, i had ordered some emeset which is ondansetron but it wont arrive in time for new years so am in a pickle.

given that the nausea varies between people hopefully this friend will be less susceptible

Really? I would try plugging once more time to be sure.
Anyway I've seen some people using benadryl to fight the nausea. If I remember well, it was with different drug, but try to search the forums a bit, it might help you.

Nausea - 5-HT3, D2 and H1.
Domperidone doesn't work for me - even gives me RLS. Zofran (ondansetron) is awesome though. Always works for me except for motion sickness or dopamanie agonist induced nausea. Sometimes 4mg doesn't cut it and I may have to bump it up to 8. It is definitely the way to go for serotogenic drugs. For some reason though I think it causes mild depression for me if I use too regularly. Its probably in my head though and other than that I get no side effects from it.

sweet, i have ordered some ondansetron (stopping serotonin based nausea seem the best solution for amt by far) but it wont be here for new years eve and i was wondering if anyone had successfully combined amt with promethazine as i can buy it in a chemist easily, and was wondering if it was usefull for getting rid of amt nausea

thanks for all the responses so far x

ive tried odansetron to combat nausea, and reported it in the B&D thread iirc. it worked great, and has been used to comabt other substances' nausea as well. unforutnately i had only 4 tablets to play with so my experience is limited.

for a low dose aMT (<20mg) i used 2mg (so half a tablet) and didnt get any nausea. sure enough, there were other body load signs to let me know i was tripping but gi discomfort wasnt an issue. this was a big improvement over my previous experience without the tablet.

also tried it for a combo involving 4-ho-mipt, and it worked there as well.

strangely enough, now i dont get nausea from aMT any more, even when i dont use the odansetron. i wonder why though. i still use it orally, and my doses are never too high (never went above 30mg)

I've found plugging eliminates almost all the nausea, side effects and reduces the duration but for some reason orally feels more "complete" although its difficult to explain why.
Diphenhydramine (benadryl in the US) is supposed to work well but I've never taken it as I don't want to add drowsiness to the experience.
Ginger is supposed to be good but I can never get enough of it down as powdered ginger really isn't to my taste.

It's possible to get Ginger in capsules.

I actually found smoking my aMT completely eliminated any nausea - 85mg split up into smaller doses over a day never resulted in even a touch of bodyload or nausea while as soon as the oral come up hits me I'm dashing for the bathroom to puke my guts up, and wouldn't usually make it.

That said, smoking it is a lot more potent, and significantly shorter lasting - so if you want the 16 hour trip, it's not for you, and you certainly need to be more careful and lower your dose with this ROA.

From other reports 5HT3 antagonists seem to be the way to go with this one. One thing I'll say is be careful about smoking weed as while it usually reduces the nausea I've heard of peoples' nausea getting worse and them throwing up after they smoke on the come up. That said though this is in Europe where spliffs (tobacco & weed mix) are the norm, so there's a good chance it was the MAOI action of the tobacco causing the worsening of the nausea. As such, avoid cigs ;)

Scopolamine aka hyoscine is the best anti-nausea drug.
You can get it OTC in travel sickness relief, in AU its in travacalm H.O, in the UK its in joy rides, US it isn't OTC but i doubt it would be hard to get a script for the scopolamine patches.
