Hi everyone, So my beautiful girlfriend and I are going to big day out on the GC on Sunday. She has been on Sertraline for 6 month. We are getting some pills from a mate on the GC and from what he says and the latest report on pillreports.com we are expecting some good MDxx pills. She hasn't taken the pills today because her script ran out. Will MDxx do her any good in 3 days?

Cheers :)

Edit: She just told me that before yesterdays pill she hasn't had it for 3 days. She experienced a mild reduction in mood.

Sertraline's half-life is about 26 hours so there will likely still be some in her system, but obviously less than if she had taken a pill a day before.

The problem isn't just the SSRI itself though, it is the receptor downregulation you get with prolonged SSRI use - ie she has less serotonin receptors, so her high is likely to be reduced even if all the sertraline is out of her system. This seems quite variable - some people don't notice any reduction where as others get no effects at all - most are somewhere in the middle..

If she's already getting some reduction in mood, bear in mind that a comedown after not taking her medication for a while might not be a good thing at all.

Sorry to be so negative! Hope you guys still have a good time :)

Not negative, this is my girlfriend and I want real advice.

Cheers for you help

^ no problem - as I said it is variable, she may well still get good effects - or they may be dampened. Make sure she's back on the sertraline the next day too :) (not the same day, don't want to risk serotonin syndrome)
