OK spinsters I got one for you. I use a relatively powerful Ronson torch (purchased at Wal-Mart for $25) when imbibing, and I am starting to think that I am giving the dope too much heat. Does anyone know what that brown crap is that is left behind? It looks and smells like gun cleaner. Someone told me to smoke it, that it is residue, and I told 'em to get lost - ice ain't pot. Me thinks it is toxic by-product that needs to be burned away once created. So does anyone know for sure? Second question: if I am creating this brown residue am I overheating the product?

Thank you for taking the time to read and/or answer.

Sounds like you are frying your meth and not letting it vaporize.

You are right it isn't weed, but you seem to be heating it up like it is and that is why it is getting ashy like that.

Low heat, and a good steady pendulum rolling is going to get the most out of your product.

I've had the same residue before. You're probably just using too much heat. It's easy to get it too hot, especially when you're in a hurry!

I've also seen a few batches that have done it, no matter how much heat I've used. It didn't seem to have any effect on the quality, so I'm assuming in that case it's a matter of a certain ingredient or method.

Just DON'T try to smoke it. Like you said, it's not pot. The smoke that reslts from applying high heat to the residue I've seen smells AWFUL, and I'm pretty sure it's toxic. I always just clean it out.
