Stimulants Amphetamines for the purpose of studying.

The library at my University is going to open 24/7 soon, so I want to take advantage of this and get some essays done that I haven't finished yet. Being in the library all night with all of those books around me will help a lot, but I will need to stay alert and awake as I don't want to look at the work the next day and find loads of sleepy errors.

Would a small amphetamine dose be wise for this? Just a small dab to keep me alert, focused and awake to see the night through and get the work done?

Yes. You may have to redose though. I find that a properly rationed 25 mg adderall XR can get me thru 2 nights of studying.

Well besides the above, keeping the dosage below recreational level, the type of amphetamine and personal chemistry plays a role. My experiences with non pharmaceutical racemic amphetamine yielded very positive results. The dextro-amphetamine I am scripted for my ADD seems to do no such thing for me. I was about to make a thread about this paradox, which could be related to personal chemistry.

yeah you'll remember. it won't be pointless as long as you work and aren't distracted. just make sure you are healthy on the day of an exam (good sleep, good food) or have some adderall during the exam

I dont see how taking the dirtiest brain chemical imbalance causing, completeley changes the person u are in a hurry drug will make u smarter. be smart and save ur brain cells.from that shot. i qould howevwr take a lil adderal once in a qhile for thw purpose of studying but i wuld never buy sum crude chemical off the street esp if ur smoking it

Have you considered any alternatives to amphetamine, ozzifar? There's a selection of alternatives that are both better suited for the job and less neurotoxic. I'd recommend hunting down some methylphenidate (ie Ritalin) or ethylphenidate (Ritalin's similar-acting sister compound). Possession of ethylphenidate is legal in a few countries, including the UK. It's schedule II in the US though, so depending on where you live, it could be your lucky day.

I'd say amphetamine is fine, I wouldn't use street amphetamine myself. If I were you I might suggest a pharmaceutical amphetamine or other stimulant (e.g. methylphenidate, dexmethylphenidate). It would certainly help with studying, can't do much better than amp for that. Again, just careful with street amphetamine. And as mentioned don't use a ton of whatever you do use because too much could be distracting or overstimulating.

The most important thing to remember is to thoughtfully and methodically plan out your dosages, and be disciplined about keeping them below recreational levels. The temptation to have a little fun could easily result in your 'study-aid' instead becoming a masturbation-aid.

i second this. doing a little of amphetamines will help. if you do too much youll become way too "geeked out," paranoid and jittery and studying in the library will probably be the last thing youll be thinking about. So take a low dose of adderall or whatever you have and dont bring anymore with you to the library

From my personal experience with adderal, I'd say studying is actually enhanced under its influence, especially if that's your focus at the time. In a way, it makes you OCD about finishing whatever your task at hand happens to be. I suppose 5 mg would be a nice threshold dose to where there is a noticeable physiological change without being euphoric or tweaky. It really helps if you're scatterbrained or prone to daydreaming, cheers!
