I'm just curious if anyone might have any tips on how to cope with the hostility, extreme irritability, and aggression that I get for the days following moderate to heavy use of dextroamphetamine. The irritability is the main problem because I generally end up getting hostile, and aggressive very easily which has caused me problems in the past.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Stopping stimulants is a bitch, and there's really no easy way out. Even with benzos, I still felt like shit, if I had been on a pretty heavy binge. Keep hydrated, and try to just wait it out basically. There are some supplements, like l-tyrosine and phenylalanine which I've heard people suggest to some other stim users that basically had the same question as you.

Yea, not much that hasn't already been said here. They key is to understand WHY you are feeling so bad on the hangover, its because you haven't eaten, slept, or been drinking enough for the past few days. The best thing you can do is help your body do what it does NATURALLY. Take a multivitamin, eat a good meal (not pizza flavored pringles and some oreos), and for god sakes get plenty of SLEEP. Taking benzos or other downers will help in the short term, but they interfere with your sleep cycle in a way which deprives your body of its much needed REM sleep (this is the sleep where much of the healing and restoration happens). I say this knowing how hard it is not to be angry after a five day Dexedrine binge, but trust me once your body comes back to its healthy state, so will your mind.

Well another reason why someone feels shitty after a stimulant binge is that they had really drained their brain of dopamine. Short term binges usually take a week or so to come out of, but long term use can cause pretty long and nasty bouts of irritability, depression, apathy, and insane cravings.

How long of a period was your usage? Just a day? Days without sleep? I find I only get irritable and snappy when I haven't slept for a while. Then I will just be pissed off at my friends and other people, and the best thing to do is just stay in my room and go to sleep. I am always surprised at my energy levels and rediscovered good mood after sleep.

If you're staying up for days I wouldn't reccomend it, I always have an awful time when staying up for too long. I take amphetamines pretty much every day, but I get sleep, too, cause I know by now that even if my brain tells me otherwise, I will really not be having a good time when 8am rolls around and I have a whole nother day lying ahead of me.

Tangent, sorry. As others have said, vitamins, food, and sleep. Benzos and alcohol chill me out too....but that's not the healthiest solution.
