Misc Amobarbital 25mg tablets, recommended dose?

I am familiar with the opioids, few benzos I haven't tried (4mg clonazepam/day since 04'), carisoprodol, ghb, ethaqualone, ambien, zopiclone, copious amounts of alcohol and as far as barbs go I've had the most experience with phenobarbital and I agree with the general concensus on this forum regarding its recreational value, also had butabital (fioricet sp?) which I didnt find any more recreational than phenobarbital.

I have some 25mg pills of amobarbital sodium which I got overseas from Eastern Europe and I've used them several times in maximum of 75mg at once, with effects resembling more those of alcohol than soma.

*The recommend oral dose of amobarbital is in between 100mg-200mg*

1) Isn't this too much? (esp if your taking it with benzos and/or opioids; tolerent to both but not barbs)

2) Also, how does a 'proper' amobarbital high compare to? (personally from the doses i've taken its felt a more like alcohol or soma than anything else)

Last but not least,

3) How would you rank amobarbital in terms of euphoria and recreational use (ie: better than benzos, better than ghb, etc)

4) Do all barbs inhibit the same enzymes as phenobarbital thus making codeine stronger?

Since you're talking about mixing it with benzos/opioids I would certainly start at the bottom of that dosage range. Mixing opiates with barbiturates and mixing opiates with benzos are two different things. Be very careful with mixing barbs with any other depressant.

for a review of the subjective effects i would read erowid's experience reports. barbiturates are generally compared to a euphoric alcohol intoxication, minus the hangover.

amobarbital was part of tuinal, was it not? secobarbital; plus amobarbital? its considered to be one of the more recreational barbs.

mixing barbiturates with other depressants is asking for trouble; i wouldn't do it.

The main reason I asked is b/c the medical theory behind this combo (codeine and barbies) is that barbies work as major or exclusive substrate/s for CYP2D6, CYP2C9, CYP2C19, CYP1A2, NAT2, or DPD
