Misc Ambien question..

So I take ambien for sleep but it usually doesn't work. I've stayed up nights on ambien but it doesn't make me trip like a lot of people say it does for them. I have 20mg tonight and I'm trying to feel it. Any ideas on why I don't feel anything or trip when I take it and stay up?

You've probably built up a tolerance from taking it regularly for sleep. So it won't effect you the same way it would effect someone naive to the drug.
 
Well I havent taken it for about a week, im going to snort em right now so we'll see how it goes. I have this gut feeling it just isnt going to work though.
 
Are you prescribed? If so maybe let your doctor know they aren't working and ask for some CR's.
 
This is so weird. Maybe this will help me find out whats been so fucked up in my head

not sure what to say. ive been depressed for a long time. i get psycotic thoughts as well. I take this ambien and the thoughts are gone, the depression is gone. I don't feel anything. I'm not tripping off of it. Oddly enough I can take benzos with or without a tolerance to them and not feel any differant either. Maybe my Gaba receptor is messed up and thats the cause of all of this? I need to know why I wouldn't trip after taking 20mg of ambien with no tolerance. this is insane.
 
I would like to hear as many responses as possible. I'm not on any meds right now so there is no interaction fyi.
 
It could be many things. But remember that drugs affect everybody differently. Are you on any other medication? I wouldn't snort it though. You're not snorting PURE Zolpidem. You're getting fillers that could be harmful to your nose.
 
Some people don't get effects off of the z-drugs, I'm one of them. They're just .. wierd drugs that don't always respond the same way. Sometimes they "wake people up" from comas.

They're not terribly recreational anyway. the best way to administer them is eating them - snorting is a waste of zolpidem.
 
i've always rather liked zolpidem, the best of the z-drugs in my opinion. 20mgs should usually do the trick, it's pretty potent. honestly, i've no idea why you can'get off on that dose, 'specially if you have little to no tolerance to the stuff.
