Hi all!
I have prescription for Ambien due to sleep problems, but now have reeeallly freaked myself out reading about the possible side effects. Even on the information inside the pack it warns about Ambien potentially causing you to SLEEPWALK and do weird stuff without knowing what you're doing!! I wondered if any of you had experienced it? I wana take it as I've heard it pretty good reviews of it, other that this scary side effect! aaaah

I have taken Ambien for many years. The only times I have done things like walking and falling somewhere in my house while sleeping is when I have taken more than prescribed. If you take the dose as prescribed I think you should be fine. I have ridiculous insomnia which is why I tried more than directed, but it doesn't work that way.

Just to put it in perspective, Tylenol has warnings about liver failure, and there are people who taken it at prescribed dosages and experienced this, does this stop you from taking Tylenol? No, it's just that since it has been documented it has to be reported, but that doesn't mean that it somehow happens to everyone, it's extremely rare.
With ambien this is less analagous since side effects like sleepwalking are more likely, but still uncommon.
You should be entirely fine, but there is a risk, just as the same with Tylenol.

Do you have a history of sleep walking, or talking in your sleep or anything? If not, I wouldn't worry too much at all man/girl. They are supposed to knock you out, as in, the opposite of sleep walk. The only reason you hear about it is not because it happens to everyone who takes it... but because its so strange it becomes mini-headline news for a day.

Don't trip, be safe, don't do too much and you'll have fun/get to sleep whatever. Peace.

Oh and I don't recommend snorting it, burns like 2C-X... hell basically.

A friend of mine has been taking Ambien for about 15 years for severe insomnia.
She suppliments it with OTC sleep meds and also apparently takes it a few hours before bedtime. This doesn't sound good to me.

Anyway, I've been around her after she's been drinking, and she still has to take her meds or she can't sleep, and it's very scary.
She loses touch with reality, babbles about nothing, walks around aimlessly, and has a really far away look about her.
A few times she has gotten belligerent and she seems to always bring up a specific trauma she endured years ago. She never remembers any of it the next day. I'm glad she's not a big drinker.
It's really scary to witness, and this is a woman in her 50's.

My advice is to be careful particularly with alcohol (I think that's the problem). It's quite a powerful drug.

Thanks all for your replies!!! I love BL!!!! I'm gonna bite the bullet and give it a try! And hope for the best! Probably shouldn't have started googling it etc!!
Ha aaaah I wasn't gonna snort it but thanks for the warning! Always good to know ;)

My boyfriend who was prescribed it would get really horny. And one time he cried about his life, and he's a really hard headed jerk kinda haha. Ambien also made him forget he did any of these things...he also took more than the reccomended dose. When I did the two pills he was prescribed, I slept a little but when I woke up at 4 am I was wide awake. Didn't do much...but idk thatnwqsnt prescribed for me either keep in mind.
