Lately some of you know I have gotten many rohypnol and it has gone a 'little' out of hand, it's not that 'fun' anymore, but I seem to almost need it at night to chill out and relax. I started to notice that my tolorence was getting up there, around 4-5mg to feel down so I stopped taking it for a day and low and behold I started to feel 'weird' couldn't sleep and started having muscle cramps, spasms? Now my question is I KNOW I have to taper off slowly, but do you know how ambien affects with benzo withdrawal?? Could I take ambien while trying to taper off rohypnol?? I'm not sure because ambien isn't a benzo, but acts on... I'm know you guys know this already so I won't bore you. Thanks.

Chemically Ambien is different than the Benzo's, yet they work on mostly the same part of the brain, and in similar ways.
It absolutely will help the symptomps of withdrawal, particularly the insomnia. Just make sure you're using it to help yourself taper and not to get m4d fuck3d up.
I was taking as much as 7 (no that is NOT a typo) mg. of Xanax a day for two weeks...because I could.

All of the sudden, I found myself with NO pills (not because of poor planning...because...well, don't ask

) and as you can imagine the withdrawal was hell. Ambien got me through the worst of it, then I found a few K-pins to finish it up.
Good luck.

speedlimit, how much ambien were you taking for the withdrawal symptoms to stop? I only ask because I only have a few ambien pills so I have to use them sparingly.

Keep in mind my tolerance to benzo's was HORRID. (7 mg and I could still drive...I would take 2mg in the morning..to wake up

)
I only used the ambien to sleep and I would take 30-mg each night.
If you only have a few to spare, you're going to have to just divide what you have by however many days you think it'll take to recover.

well, for me at least INSOMNIA was a big factor in withdrawal and no sleep lead to other things like lack of concentration, muscle cramps, spasms, and headaches like fuck! The symptoms prolly aren't as bad as an opiod withdrawel, but they're not something you would want to experience. I thought it would be 'pussy shit' and I'd be able to get through it without a problem, but it was pretty bad. Speedlimit prolly had a little more problems than me though.

Physically the withdrawal is nothing compared to opiate withdrawal...
...the panic attacks and depression were nearly un-bearable...I laid in bed at night, for hours...worrying about stuff that would NEVER happen...but my mind was in such a bad place that I convinced myself it was going to happen...the cravings and depression were worse than any sort of withdrawal I have experienced thus far.

The benzo withdrawl is about the only chemical that I can relate to in regards to withdrawl symptoms. I've used lots of coke, opiates, speed, K, and whatever else people can become tolerant to. But I have always remembered that moderation is the key, so as not to use any one thing for too long!
Since benzos are one of the "weaker" drugs, I have let myself use a few things like Xanax, etc. for a while and then stopped abruptly. SL55 had a good description of what it feels like. I wasn't ever really paranoid at night, but damn that insomnia. You can be tired as hell and just lay awake hour after hour. And I believe that since your body is so used to the tranqualizers/sedatives that feelings of anxiety will come more often.
The best way to get off the benzos is just to taper off slowly. Your body will crave more at night, but it'll make the insomnia more bearable.
