Opioids Alternating drugs vs kindling effect

This is another question about drug rotation/spacing doses, but a quick search didn't show me this one specifically, so:

Since I started using opioids again I have made sure to keep gaps in between to avoid/ slow down the development of tolerance/dependence. It was working fine for several months as long as I went for one dose 1-2x a week. Then it went to 3-4 times and after a while I had to increase my doses rather quickly and slight symptoms of WD appeared in between. I'm aware that messing with H gave it another push to very distinct and unignorable WD 😒. So by now it's really alternating opis and WDs and it sucks...
What's making it worse is that I wonder whether there even is any chance for me to scroll back to 2-3x using WITHOUT symptoms in between... Or am I rather making it worse every time I put myself through it? Cause I'm confidet that I CAN reduce it to 2-3x but I'm still going to get WD in between at least for a while. I don't want to waste my energy on trying though if my only options now are really going constant or stopping for good.
Any help is appreciated.

Sorry, I didn't meant to say phenmetrazine, I meant to say promethazine which is a first generation antihistamine. It stops the eyes and nose running, stops nausea and in fact MOST of the physical WD symptoms - loperamide does the one thing it cannot. In the UK it's a [P] medication i.e. you don't need a prescription but you can only buy it at a pharmacy.

I've never tried tilidine but it sounds interesting and useful. Remember that like codeine, tilidine is a prodrug i.e. you MUST take it orally so that the liver will convert it to the active drug - nortilidine.

With comfort meds, you could get through WD in 7 days or less. Since the aove medications help, it will just feel like flu i.e. all of your bones aching. Some people use paracetamol for that. But I freely admit that it's harder if you have responsibilities. But I think we both know that the longer you go on, the worse that WD will be.

I'm honestly shocked there is seemingly no help available. MABYE the only users left in Germany are people like you i.e. people who don't commit crimes to pay for your stuff. But at least one BLer was on a methadone prescription. They didn't tell me how and it's not something I would ever ask.

But nobody ever sets out to become dependent - it just happens. All I know is that the longer it goes on, the harder it gets. John Cooper Clarke put it best:

First it's fun,
Then it's not,
Then it's hell

So if you are in the 'not fun' phase, it's time to at least take a break. If you can get tilidine, I feel sure that will be a great help.

Tale care,
Sean

Thank you, I got it finally... It's quite embarrassing how hard it is to see where you're at yourself sometimes, while it's obvious to everyone else 😅
Promethazine is a prescription med here with very limited indications... It might be possible to get but not so easy. Loperamid seems to work well for now, let's see how it goes...
🙏😣🙏

promethazine don't help much. You will always have withdrawal using then not for a couple days then using again. Only way is to stop completely go through wd and never touch it again. You say you can keep it to a couple days but the wd will only get worse and in no time you'll be using every day.
Why would you want to use for 3 days then sick for 3? Sounds miserable

You have to titrate but at 200-400mg/day it takes the edge off for me. But TITRATE - what works for me may not work for you. But for me, it just hid the physical stuff.

I'm 100% certain a UK pharmacy site WOULD sell it to you.

@Jen X is just saying how it is.

I don't use for even two days in a row normally. It's one day use opioids, one day use something else... I break that rule only sometimes... And one of those times was when I approached the right dose of H... But yeah, it's miserable by now...
What made you stop eventually?

What made you stop eventually?

Not wishing to be a slave to a chemical. Not having to worry that my supply would end. The constant worry - even in dreams.

But I guess the MOMENT I realized I no longer wanted it was after taking a dose and realizing that it no longer blocked the worries. I could have taken more, but knew where that would lead.

Opioids don't actually relieve pain - they just alter it's schedule and they charge a LOT of interest for rescheduling.
