Misc Alcohol just doesnt work anymore..ugghh

heres the deal, when i was a teenager alcohol was the best..get drunk with my buddies and felt like superman, lots of energy, sex drive, super motivated, really social..fast forward a few years and then i found Ghb which imo is a much better party drug, social lubricant than alcohol..i used that for a few years and then developed addiction to opiates...nubain, oxycontin, heroin and then methadone..when i used opiates i almost looked down upon people that drank alcohol because i considered the high to be garbage..had to quit the opiates because i went broke and then stayed away from everything for a few years..then tried drinking alcohol again and boy oh boy, the magic was almost completely gone..it wasnt euphoric at all but it did mellow me out but i felt sloppy on it..i was very disappointed that alcohol let me down..lol..then i found BDO which again i found much better than alcohol..i use that until i run out and can no longer get it...stay clean for a few months and tried drinking again last night but fuck, no magic again...just an overall sloppy mellow buzz if you can call it that..maybe im just older and the stuff doesnt work anymore or maybe the other drugs are that much better than booze??problem is, for parties and such i like to have something..

anyone else this way?to where alcohol has lost its magic touch even after infrequent use?if so, what do you use in place of it?
 
Yeah, alcohol is just shitty.

Just out of curiosity, when you tried drinking again were you in a good social setting or were you just drinking alone? As with all drugs, set and setting are in play with alcohol.
 
venrak-i was in a social setting with people enjoying themselves but the shitty alcohol buzz almost killed my enjoyment..alcohol almost seems to induce anhedonia in me nowadays..wtf..

tricomb-i agree back when i first tried alcohol i had no other drug experiences to base it on..now ive had many superior forms of intoxication and alcohol just sucks..so many people love it though, seems to work for them..im almost jealous..
 
i like combining alcohol with weed and some stims, but ive never actually gotten drunk without some other drug to combine with it, just feels like its missing something

If you have never got drunk without combining alcohol with other drugs how do you know its missing something then?

Looking at my name on here you think I would love getting drunk but I actually dont. I just picked a random name 6 years ago. So in no way am I defending alcohol.
 
I can relate. I essentially can no longer drink alcohol to party, because as soon as I am drunk I just crave cocaine, and it ruins my night.
 
^^thats another problem with alcohol these days is it bothers my stomach..

hell i took 200 mgs of caffeine along with 0.5 mg of xanax the other day and felt much better than i did drinking alcohol in any amount..
 
I am not supposed to drink due to medical conditions, and also that even a tiny amount of ethanol could prove lethal when taking opiates. I've lost family to alcohol and opiates, so their death didn't occur without purpose, at the very least I could learn not to mix the two drugs, and would implore anyone I meet to do the same
 
I never drink anymore because A it sucks, and B feeling like dog turds the next day-then in turn would make me want to jump back onto the opiate train just to cover up my hangovers. After being an opiate addict for so long, hangovers from drinking actually start to feel like dopesickness. What a yo-yo mess that back and forth nonsense becomes.

Did you know that drinking alcohol eats up your opiate high? It causes the effects of your opiate high to more rapidly lose it's effectiveness. To put it another way, if you had one oxy left, took it and then drank some booze a couple of hours later, dopesickness would begin for you sooner than if you hadn't drank at all.

Maybe this means diddly squat to you-but I know when I was in that "last pill spot"- I would have done ANYTHING to stave off withdrawals-even if it was a couple hours longer:)

If you don't mind me asking, what is the condition? An enzyme deficiency?
 
so what do you guys use for social occasions??do you just go sober??ive tried that but its not as enjoyable...

Practice makes perfect.

No one should need a drug for "social occasions" although if I'm in an environment where everyone else is just getting shitfaced, I'll smoke hash.

sorry i meant to say the i never (as in present tense) get drunk with out weed and/or stims. i have gotten drunk without combining it before when i couldnt find any drugs. i also wont even want to drink unless im already on another drug.
