Like others here, I suspect, I practically never drink alchohol in any quantity - and am quite unfamiliar with the effects as opposed to E, pot etc.
What I want to know is, how can practically the entire world condone alchohol and no other drugs. Basically, it made me feel absolutely shit and more impaired (physically but more importantly socially) than on anything else I do.
Alchohol sux.
 
i agree totally bro... after trying other recreational drugs (illegal) i've decided that it really isn't that interesting to me... and i've minimised my drinking accordingly to purely social occasions...

i think a lot of it has to do with history. for the "civilized northern europeans" drinking was the only way they could get fucked up, and smoking or eating something wasnt really an option (most n. europeaners tend to be mycophobic) and since they basically conquered the whole fucking world, and made rules for the whole fucking world, they say that its ok to drink to get fucked up, but smoke something or eat something is not kosher in society because there are no historical roots for it. i think alcohol fucking blows, and all the beer companies can go fuck themselves. im sure they also have a hand in lobbying politicians to keep weed illegal, cause YOU KNOW that so many people will quit drinking when they finally legalize the herb.
 
You know, not everyone drinks alcohol to get as fucked up as possible. Some, like me, like the taste of beer/liquor etc. and have a drink to relax or just socialize. If you feel like shit from drinking last nite then maybe you should lay off the booze or practice a little moderation next time.
 
in holland weed is legal and they stillkeep drinking
weed is also a lot more of a DRUG here than alcohol and it is less accepted
that it is illegal is because of other multinationals who sell o.a. textile (sp) and plastic and such
those things can be made much cheaper with cannabis...........
also can you see everyone going out having a good time and dancing while totally STONED

I cannot stand drunk people. They smell , say dumb things and piss me off. Alcohol is the most dangerous drug ever BUT WHY IS IT LEGAL??
People who smoke act stupid , but they aren't so destructive and they can function a hell of a lot better then drunks.
I never liked drinking. Once again I REALLY REALLY hate drunk people , but it is so profitable to the world , it will never go away.
One more thing. We have a long way to go before we can smoke legally , so don't go smoking in front of cops yet!
 
Yeah I agree, alcohol makes me more "loose" and sociable, there are many other drugs that do this to, but alcohol is readily available because its not illegal. I hate getting wasted on it but its good when you don't have anything to do and just want to relax. Just my opinion though.

there IS no logical answer for why its legal to drink and not smoke bud or do X or whatever...as far as pot, less than 100 yrs ago you were REQUIRED by law to grow pot if you had X amount of land. ive spent hours trying to figure out why alcohol is legal and i just dont know...the government is too fuckin stupid to have a good reason i spose?

Alcohol has just always been acceptable, and it has too great a foothold in our world.. yes, it's more harmfull then most any other drug, but it also has the backing of multi-billion dollar companies... it's just kind of a "it's always been legal, we cant change now" situation..

It is never just "Drugs," it is always "Drugs AND Alcohol." This seemingly harmless distinction very subtley gives impression that alcohol is NOT a drug. Drugs are bad, not alcohol! If alcohol were a drug, it would be bad. But of course it isn't! Not anymore. "Drugs AND alcohol" is everywhere. The acceptance of alcohol is soo deeply rooted..blah blah blah
 
I don't think that alcohol is legal and other drugs illegal 'cause the government is stupid. They are up to something SINSISTER I tell you!!
Think about it... alcohol & caffeine are legal (they are addictive and promoted [they pump caffeine in to childrens food FFS!], they also inhibit spiritual growth, basically making you a not too intelligent materialist), heroin & cocaine are illegal yet the American government ITSELF was shipping it into america and selling it to users (again, these chemicals are addictive and all the same as above [but they are obviously very bad so the gov. would be seen as fucking stupid if they weren't illegal]).
Then take LSD (harmless, non-addictive and have medical potential), Psylocybin (same as above), MDMA (similar to above), GHB (same but with apparently EXTREME medical potential).
The first 4 make ppl violent. The latter 4 and plenty more usually make ppl happy and caring! I forgot to mention weed too. All the illegal ones work on the higher levels of consciousness making them awesome tools for enhancing the human psyche... etc etc...
Did you know that some gov. lady was assassinated after she talked with Timothy Leary about getting the president (or was it a DEA official) to take LSD in the hopes to show him the light?
There's plenty more stuff I could mention! Like those DEA guys forcing the parents of that girl who died to speak out against GHB when it was doubtful if she even took it and definately didn't die from it mentioned in the article this toic was originally about.

Hehe, no seriously though, weed has given me some pretty realistic insights about life. Mainly my own life though.
And this shit about reading a whole bunch of articles (from different ppl) who all just happened to be ripping off R.A. Wilson... I seriously doubt it. The things I read that had me come to this conclusions were subjects on things like extra terrestrials and the 5th transition of Earth, Timothy Leary's eight fold model of human consciousness, media reports on drug use, the DEA's over zealous nature on suppressing information about these drugs, actual information on how these drugs work, spirituality and a bit of science.
Didn't you know man?! Being paranoid about the government is IN again dude!! B) Hehe, just kidding...
If you had read all I had you would understand how I came to this. And it really does make perfect sense... Too bad it sounds more like some Fox Mulder wannabees fantasy. Maybe I woulda made it public

The yeast figured out how to trick us into helping them reproduce, and did a damn good job of it.
First off...the entire world does not condone Alcohol. Muslims, and many other groups look very unfavorably upon drinking. Why is it legal? Because it is uncontrollably easy to make it. Unlike marijuana it does not require a particular type of environment. It takes little plant knowledge, a and even less equipment to make booze. Pruno drinkers help me out here....It was probably the first drug we ever took and it will follow the human race to its end. It is a (in my opinion unattractive) side of our nature.

This ain't entirely correct: I live in Holland...and it's legal to buy/smoke cannabis and to have max. 5 plants to grow your own weed/hasj, but you can't sell it unless you're the owner of a 'coffeeshop' (were they sell cannabis).
But you know what's even better? Shrooms are totally legal also (and San Pedro/Peyote also!)...you may buy/use them, grow some for your own (don't know exactly how much) but it's illegal to sell them unless you're the owner of a 'smartshop' (were they sell shrooms).
Personally I do use alcohol but no cannabis (any more...smoked it everyday for 3 years). Why? Because I think the f-fect of cannabis sucks (Get tired, don't feel like doing anything...), but I do like the effects of alcohol (only beer) - especially in combination with speed...(wich isn't legal by the way)
