I was just wondering how hard it is for the liver to process GHB. I know many people who like to sip their drink but I prefer to slam mine. A friend was telling me that it is going to ruin my liver but I can't see it being much worse that liquor. Also, do you think that by consuming 1,4BD or GBL the affects are any different?

Cheers,

GHB breaks down into water and carbon dioxide, which doesn't normally take place in the liver anyway. Small amounts of GHB can stimulate liver repair under certain conditions. Excessive amounts of GHB will be broken down by the liver, the same as alcohol.
GBL is converted to GHB in the liver, but unless you have some liver damage already it is less dangerous than alcohol. However it still takes it's toll.
1,4B has caused histopathological changes in the liver in lab rats at high doses. For humans, it's unclear what the effects are but you should get a blood test done every 6 months to be sure.
