Okay, so I searched for this and seemed to only find threads and posts geared more toward the best types of oil burners or meth bongs, etc. It delved into brands and styles, etc. And while that was infinitely helpful, I couldn't find many people talking about how to properly clean out the burnt on black stuff INSIDE the piece in case you fucked up or how to ensure you don't waste any of the white leftover residue that clings to the stem and bowl. Or, hell, if it's even worth smoking/saving.

I'm rather new to this drug and can't find this information here. I feel like it would not only help me, but other new BL members or inexperienced users that simply lurk like I used to.

I certainly hope I didn't break any rules. I just got done reading the guidelines for OD and, as far as I can tell, I think I'm within the confines of the rules placed here.

ANYWAY. tl;dr?

How does one clean a meth pipe?

Is that black stuff that stains the INSIDE that's tough to remove JUST burnt meth?

Is the white residue build up that clings to the stem and bowl over time worth saving or smoking?

Is it necessary (not beneficial, but an actual necessity) to clean a meth pipe often or even after every use?

And if there is anything I forgot to ask or that you feel could benefit everyone super new to this like me, I implore you add your knowledge and savvy to the thread. It would be so appreciated. <3 :*

Sorry, but this is not suited for OD. OD is about intermediate and in-depth harm reduction questions.
I'm going to move it to Drug Culture

for cleaning a blackened oil burner: rust remover works well. Either that or you can just use a blowtorch.

The residual "crackback" (i.e. the white-ish, crystalline residue) in an oil burner can be re-melted and smoked.

Okay, I tried my blowtorch on it but it didn't remove the black parts. :( I'll have to try the rust stuff.

As for the crackback, does it yield a similar high? And is it any safer or any more dangerous/unhealthy?
