Hi

My kitty is really broken and needs some help...

Is there anyone here who can shed more light on long term effects of amphetamine usage on someone who has a bowel condition? I've had a look online and I'm not finding anything useful, apart from the fact that speed has been known to cause colitis, so surely its not doing her much good?

My kitty's closest friend has ulcerative colitis to quite a severe degree. She does speed pretty much every weekend, and has been told by her nurse that she is suffering a lot worse than someone of her age / on her amount of medication should be. She has to take Aminosalicylates, (possibly moving towards Corticosteroids), Antibiotics (Eurythromyacin) and painkillers (anything from paracetamol to high strength codeine)

Kitty's friend had surgery on wednesday on her bowel, then did in several grams of speed. Her friend ended up having a massive bleed and yet still insisted on going with her partner on an errand, despite the fact she pretty much had to be carried to the car. When she came back, she'd suddenly become much more alert and twitchy and Kitty believes that she'd actually left the house to take speed away from Kitty as she knew Kitty didn't think it was a good idea.

Generally Kitty's friend doesn't eat from Friday until Monday morning. She says this is because she is advised to fast for her illness, but takes the speed friday night, saturday and quite often into Sunday, with no sleep. She will usually drink and also do MDMA. Her attitude to drugs is "as much as possible, as soon as possible, whatever she can get her hands on"

She has started lying about her use of speed to her friends and is (in a roundabout way) trying to call Kitty a liar. However, she has bragged to Kitty before that her and her partner can go through an entire ounce in a weekend on their own if they wanted to. Friend's partner doesnt seem to have the same...need...for it as she does, but they will take bombs of speed of up to 2g at a time to watch TV together on a friday night.

Is Kitty right to be as worried as she is? Or is she just being an idiot? She's had a look at some of the chemical properties of speed online, but isn't a chemist and didn't understand a word of it, but she's pretty sure its not a healthy option for someone prone to ulcers and stomach upset. She just knows colitis can lead to renal failure or having to have part of the bowel removed, and thats the last thing she wants.

Kitty, OH, she, he, and partner? I apologize if this sounds rude, but there are too many references to everyone in your thread, I can't really keep track of who did what, and what is wrong with who?? It was very confusing; if you can simplify it and the main characters issues, you may get answers you are seeking and more people can help you..

Hi, yes, i completely understand and thats why I edited.

I was just rather emotional about what Kitty had said occurred and couldn't get my words out right.

Bella-I apologize-I must've been typing my first reply and published it before your new revised version came up-I read your first version. Hope you find good advice; stay safe.
