I've never been offered any form of muscle relaxant before by my old pm dr. My gp is good though and is trying her best to help until I get a competent pm dr.

From being on 75/mcg ph fentanyl patches and 40 mg oxycodone ir per day, I was having severe skin reactions from the patches to the extent that I now have scars on my chest. This combo got my pain to a 7 unless I was having a really bad time.

I was switched to 2 30mg mscontin per day and no break through (pm dr wanted me to go on 100mcg patches then discharged me so he never dealt with the switch my gp did) I felt no benefit from the morphine at all. So I quit for 3 months. Got back on in October when the weather change started to mean I could no longer cope without an opiate. I was in a shit state before that though, not sleeping for 6 days due to the pain, ready for topping myself etc. Now back up to 60mg again which is still doing nothing at all, I ate 8 tablets the other night and broke the time release on 3 in pure desperation.

It started snowing last night and I am in agony, foot and arm have swollen up gone lovely shades of purple and red.

I'm going to ask to go some other pain killers as morphine are just shit! My point is, (and I am sorry for the extremely long post) I have never been offered muscle relaxants before, and I read how some work via the spinal cord and on some chronic pain and neuropathic natured conditions. I am always tense as fuck anyway coz I am always tensed with the pain and I get periods when I tremor and my leg and arm will go rigid with pain.

Does anyone have any knowledge or experience on this?

I am going to have to have a home visit at this rate, been in tears for hours now. Took me ages to type this.

So sorry for the monster post I just thought I'd explain my meds background.

And I have been on lyric, neurontin etc but they just really messed me up, tried amitrip too but sent me bat shit.

Thanks for reading and any advice would be great.
