Ok, i started a thread at another site about adulterated cannabis in Victoria and not many ppl jumped in to discuss the goings on so here i am. Recently there has been a huge leap in this adulterated crap and a massive decline in larger amounts of unmolested cannabis. From melbourne to wagga wagga this shit is everywhere and the problem is that not alot of ppl (ime) realise or seem to care. The newer lot of adulterated crap seems to have had the additive infused into the vegetable matter so there is no glistening "xtals" covering the bud which makes it harder to detect. It will however sparkle and crackle when lit up and does leave behind ash almost every time. This ash is greasy, black and if rubbed between the fingers turns into an oil. The ash has an alkaline burn to it if tasted. I guess alot of ppl dont care because its all that is around and they want to get stoned some how but ffs this shit cannot be good for you and jesus i just want some normal smoke. I found this from a UK site and it sounds similar except the weed here isnt wet as such but is slightly greasy.

Hey guys, glad I found this site. I acquired some weird weed recently... looks great, and is incredibly sticky. first I thought this was good, but then I noticed that it sizzles when you smoke it (I can see it, I smoke pure in a pipe), and the ash left behind is very black and not dusty. In fact, its really greasy almost like shoe polish. It doesn't get really hard, as others have described. The weed does not dry out, even when left out. The ash also doesn't seem to dry out, ash left sitting for a couple days still gets all greasy in my hand. Strangely though, the greasy substance washes away clean just with water..... anyone know what this could be?

I saw this or similar weed in Geelong, Vic about 3 months ago

I can't tell you what it is but watching my mate smoke it was enough make me refrain.

The cone wouldn't 'pull', the weed just sizzled and stuck together as a pile of oily ash

It's sad to hear there is lots of this around

There have scarcely been some dodgy adulterants in weed over the years but for the most part it's very safe.

Some dealers in Europe were putting lead in their weed to add extra weight which in tun gave smokers lead poisoning 8)

Yep it's in Canberra as well, first time in over 10 years that I have ever seen the Adelaide bricks like this. A water cure will stop the sparkling, but in this heat it is tricky to redry the buds.

The first batches had the problem of clogging the cone but the newer batches aren't as bad, they still flash though. It seems the crowns aren't affected as much as the smaller buds.

I can post some pics if needed.

Yeh not to along ago I came across some very similar weed, I posted a thread in the CD and pretty much got told I was a liar, noobie who didnt know shit about weed.

This was mostly coming from the yanks, the smart ones of this world8):\

That quote pretty much some's up the weed I had.Unless you really looked closely you would notice the crystals, and also would never pull through.I never touched the cone peice so im not sure if the substance left behind was greasy or not, but it would stay there unless i scraped it out with scissors.

Why? Water's a much better (and cheaper, more readily available) adulterant to add to weed - much easier to hide a few grams of water absorbed in some weed than try to put a few grams of lead in with nobody noticing in an oz.

Edit: Not questioning you or validity of article, just pointing out how retarded it is.
 
i did encounter a fair bit of this for about 2-3 weeks a few months ago. I was so happy when i got rid of it. Inferior products suck!
 
The problem is that it is awesome bud and would be right up there if it wasn't tainted.

At first I thought it hadn't been flushed properly then I started to think it had been sprayed with something.

Yep, definatly the strongest ive had in a while.

If you notice any unfamilar looking crystals, lick that area of bud and it will most likely taste like a chemicle has been added to it.

That is very important. That is one of the only ways you can tell it is adulterated without smoking it. You will react significantly the first time you taste this shit.

The weird non THC crystals that just catch your eye won't tip off even some experienced smokers.

They sure know how to make some great weed. If you've never been in a cannabis club in California, you haven't even seen what the possibilities of fine weed could be. They do it REAL good, better than anywhere in the world. Makes A'Dam look like beginners... Google cannabis dispensary and drool.... :)

That's interesting, I was just reading allegations in CD that the dispensaries change the name of strains that aren't selling well and pull all kinds of dodgy shit.

You can join in on the discussion here Lets keep this thread about the adulterated weed in Australia.
 
Commercial growers of weed do so to make a profit ... to make more money they tend to add potash to the final stages of flowering which adds weight to the flowers and makes them look fuller.Then there is a silca fertilizer thats new and adds more resin appearance etc ..This is why you see the fizzle and sparks fly when you smoke it ...

The weed your smoking is like plastic weed ... pumped full of shit during flowering to gain as much weight as possible ... There was these crystal beads being sprayed onto weed to add weight in europe a while back but if it was something like that then you would actually see some of these beads floating in your bong water.

these chemicals/fertilzers are not meant for fruit trees or something to be smoked as they are mainly used in rose and orchid growing ...

if you were to dry this weed out so it crumbles to dust and the moisture,chlorophyll is reduced then the weed might be more smokable... but of course then you lose bud weight .. Smoking this weed will make you change your bong water sooner than you normally would .. usually a greeny brown color after smoking only say six cones thru it.

I was getting this white widow for ages and tasted and smoked up great and was dried properly and then all of a sudden they started selling the weed wet and got the fizzing and sparks and it was potash and silica gel added during flowering.Smoking this shit will really fuck your lungs and coughing up alot of black shit in the morning ... not good at all ..

Flushing is mandatory when growing in hydro .... and because there is a so called weed shortage at the moment, these growers are just pumping the shit out to meet demand and not flushing or drying the stuff properly and even picking it too early so it's not as strong as it should be ..

I actually have some weed at the moment that looks very much like that red haired skunk from adelaide that the buds are brown in color and seems little damp so I dry it out a little by leaving it out the bag and it's got the sparks and slight fizzing but I have seen worse..and this stuff atleast gets me stoned..
