So im relatively new to this forum but i have posted some pieces of my story a few times. since im sure its not know im gonna give a brief overview of my circumstances before i adress my question.
I am addicted to IV stimulants (coke, meth) but i am approximately 190 days clean now.
I have a severe ADHD and was diagnosed years ago as kid but never took medication.
With the help of my intervention speecialist, parents and DR i am on prescription meds for my ADHD and it have tremendously helped me to act normal / perform well in school.
Ive tried ritalin, adderal, concerta, and vyvanze, but currently take Vyvanse 30mg daily XR.
I never abuse my meds to get high ( surprisingly) but sometimes i take 45 mgs or 60 if i have an extremely busy day.
What i have been noticing is that when i took a stronger dose of vyvanse i feel much more "normal" than even on a 30 mg dose. I actually feel less 'high' than i do on a 30 mg dose since i spend less time questioning whether the meds are working or not and simply handle my tasks. I feel like a higher dose would be beneficial to me since it dont get high but simply feel more productive and in a way more "normal". It also provides me the motivation to complete task that i normally feel are impossible.
so my questions are....
does anyone here rely on a high dose (60+mgs) of amphetamines to curb there ADHD. And does your Dr prescribe the high does?
I dont know anyone who takes over 30 mgs of any amphetamine for ADHD but i truly feel i need more to feel "normal"... anyone else feel this way?
Im wondering if this is realistically manageable? or due to side affects does this become a fucked up cycle of dosing amphetamines all day every day...
I would like to add that somedays i dont take my meds and i still feel completely fine and dont by any means crave them. But when it comes down to the heavy load of school work i have and completing all my tasks and acting like a functional person i truly feel inhibited by ADHD even on a 30mg dose of vyvanse.
