Mental Health Adderall XR and Rage

I'm prescribed 20mg Adderall XR for ADD/treatment resistant depression. I've been taking it for 3 1/2 years even though it makes me really moody. I usually just get really anxious and irritable, but occasionally I'm downright mean. This normally only occurs when I've been taking more than prescribed/not sleeping at night. Today I only took 15mg and had an epic fit of rage. My sister was understandably annoyed which made me livid. I told her, amongst other things, "You should just die," and "I hope you get raped at college." Now I feel bad. I love my sister and wish I had stopped taking adderall sooner. Has anyone else had this type of experience while on adderall/other amphetamines? I'm female by the way, I don't know if that makes a difference.

You should definitely apologize for having said such horrible things.

You should then also explain that you believe that you are becoming enraged from the medication you are taking.

You should then go to your doctor and let him know that Adderall isn't right for you anymore. I would ask to try out Dexedrine, which isn't going to be as physically stimulating, and will likely not create the same rage issues for you.

Please don't continue to take Adderall, it will only make you feel worse and worse.
