Adderall vs. Meth

I get prescribed 30 20mg adderall xr and 30 10mg ir a month and go through it in probably two weeks. So I probably take roughly between 40 and 60 mg a day. Simply just because I used to do harder substances alot and now I have a job and life outside of simply drug buddies.

One thing I have never touched is Meth. ( except for methy rolls or MDMA cut with Meth. I'm sure a couple times it was probably just straight Meth but only in the beginning of me taking it because I got smart and started testing my shit.) Anyways, I know for a fact I'm never going to touch Meth. But I want know what the hype is? (I have a shit ton of friends I've lost to Meth including my brother)

In my eyes it's like adderall is to Meth as codeine is to hydrocodone. Which taking adderall like I do, Yeah it sucks when I run out, but the substance doesn't make me go out and rob, steal, cheat to get more.

Anyways, in short, what's the difference? Mainly in effects but also the difference is has on the brain. (Because my brother is almost a completelydifferent person after doing Meth for a while.)

Well to me, as (more than) regular speed (d/l-amphetamine sulphate) user, meth is more euphoric, feels less damaging to your health, feels warm and has rushing when taking a high dose. I've insufflated and smoked meth, but never taken it orally. Smoking gives an even stronger high ime than snorting. (You can't smoke adderall) My usual dose of speed is quite a bit higher than yours is with adderall, I take about 50mg each time, at least once every 6~8 hours when taking, while both ROAs should have about the same bioavailability.
The overall effect is very close to speed, but I've restricted myself to ordering meth only once in my life, because I know that it'd end even worse than speed already did.
To explain to you how this difference would be experienced as effect, you'd first have to have experienced a higher, more recreational dose.

Meth has quite a bit more serotonergic effect, has a longer duration, harder crash and does more neurological damage. The long duration, hard crash and feeling of being almost harmless create a situation where you'll get hooked faster and more easily. The serotonergic effect, together with the neurotoxicity make it a more destructive drug. Combine these 2 and you'll practically crave for your own downfall.

The dopamine and noradrenaline effects of speed are only slightly stronger than meth's, so meth won't be a lot less harmful at those sites either.

Yeah I guess the way I always assumed was like I said before, if you take codeine opposed to Vicodin or oxy. Maybe a couple different side effects but same general feeling we crave.

Is it like that with Meth. Basically all the same physical and mental effects, just stronger?

BTW I've taken codeine, hydro, and oxy. Haha that's whys I'm comparing. Like codeine will make me more tired and sluggish while oxy will make me stimulated, but at the same time it's still an opiate high to me.
 
In my eyes, opiates and stimulants can't be compared. I do see what you're trying to make of it, but it's never that simple.
 
They aren't very similar in my experience.

Meth is less effective for productivity yet much more relaxing and a whole lot more euphoric, so it's much easier to continually dose meth until tolerance gets very high and the urge to redose gets far stronger than what is possible with adderall. Typically I'll take adderall 1-4 times a day for hard labor, but with meth i will hit the pipe for days and nights on end and forget about work entirely. When the high begins to fade, its a much stickier situation than an adderall wearing off.

In terms of comparing it to opiates, i'd compare adderall to kratom and meth to smoking fentanyl patch gel. One can be useful, with the other you're doomed.
 
I've heard from people I know who have used meth that even a small amount of meth snorted, smoked, or taken another way is a lot more powerful than even extremely high doses of Adderall and Dexedrine.
 
Yeah meth is way more powerful than adderall/dexedrine. I used to regularly use pharma amphetamines before I started on meth, now I don't even see the point. Others have related similar stories to me.

D-amps are better suited for functionality, though. Meth makes you awake and instantly alert, but the high is not subtle at all and it's more "scatterbrained"

Anyway there's no mystique about why people like meth...it's a drug, you do it and get high. It releases "good feels" in your brain and makes you feel empowered. Some people get significantly addicted to that feeling. As a drug it's pretty "soulless" and banal
 
I guess this would be like comparing a Nissan Micra to a Lambourgini Diablo. Both get you from A to B but one gets you there much faster with a lot more fun.

What Burnt Offerings says about wanting the d-amps is right. However I find racemic meth or speed much more "scatter brained" than d-meth.
